Developer DICE is "not moving onto future projects or expansions until we sort out all the issues with Battlefield 4," an EA representative told IGN. "We know we still have a ways to go with fixing the game – it is absolutely our #1 priority.  The team at DICE is working non-stop to update the game."

We inquired with EA about how this affects the future of other DICE games, such as Star Wars Battlefront and Mirror's Edge. "We haven’t announced a ship date for Battlefront but right now the team is focused on fixing Battlefield 4," an EA spokesperson said.

Earlier this week EA delayed a PlayStation 4 patch for Battlefield 4, which saw the release of its China Rising DLC. Users reported problems with the add-on in addition to the existing issues, such as server limitations and game ejections, on consoles.

China Rising was "already in the final stages of development by the time issues began with Battlefield 4," so EA "decided to fulfill our promise to deliver it this week."

Updates for all platforms are coming soon, but EA has not specified precisely when patches will resolve Battlefield 4's issues.

"We know many of our players are frustrated, and we feel your pain," EA said. "We will not stop until this is right.

Ea's stock falls after the rocky launch of bf4, hopefully the publisher will make sure it's future games are better tested...

It really sucks that they couldn't get the game as bug free as possible before release, and it really seems like the game was rushed out the door by EA. But i'm more pissed by the fact that we might have to wait even longer for battlefront 3...

Really the only way they can respond. Needs to be primary focus as its pretty incredible it even launched with these errors.

EA strikes again. I cannot believe the industry has gotten this sloppy. I mean, sure it's one thing to ship and patch day 1, but another thing to ship broken.
Polygon updated their review for the game from 7.5 to 4.
Barely playable. That's quite bad, especially for a call of duty competitor, this will only push people toward CoD.
Time to learn some more lessons EA, looks like class isn't over quite yet.

Yeah Im pissed too.  Not that I have a ton of time to play personally, but they clearly bit off more than they can chew.  Releasing a BF game is buggy for the first month or so on a single platform.  Since they released on 5 platforms (2 being equipment that was just released), they clearly couldnt fix everything before release.

Sucks for consumers who get a broken game, and it sucks for DICE who has to crunch even longer then they have been for the last few months.  Im sure that China Rising was already too far along in the pipeline to stop it.  While its DICE's game, Im sure there was a lot of external pressure to release on 5 platforms on release dates provided by Sony and MS.  Unless they have a team of 100's, its impossible to not get spread too thin.

Try to focus on one platform while you have 4 other platforms with millions of people screaming at you.  There really is no elegant way to fix it besides making the consumer patiently wait while they burn thru days and nights fixing bugs.

i haven't picked up my copy yet, but from what my buddy is saying, it takes a lot of luck to get into any matches right now on the ps4. Add in the fact that his campaign progress was deleted 3 times, he's pretty pissed off lol 

I'll stick to KZ as my shooter until Destiny drops. This year's BF and COD are not purchase worthy in my view.

I'm playing this game on the PS3 and the crashes and frame rate drops are just insane.

Hell, I think my favorite gun (MG4) actually reduces my frame rate. Might test that out today.

I assume the issues with BF4 is the shitty campaign? :-p

Personally, I haven't experienced any issues. But I'm glad they're working on it.

I'm glad Star Wars Battlefront 3 wasn't DICE's launch title, I usually don't care about most shooters but the memories of playing the first 2 on the OG Xbox will probably drag me back to have a go. Hopefully by that time they know what they're doing on the new gen and there won't be any of these teething problems
