In a statement provided to Ars, Microsoft's Xbox VP Yusuf Mehdi didn't provide any solid update on sales numbers, but he did say that Microsoft is "seeing record breaking sales and [we] are selling every Xbox One we can make. Demand is far exceeding supply in the 13 countries we’ve launched and we are sold out at retailers around the world." Mehdi added that 50 million man-hours have been spent on the system so far, and he said that the company has been "humbled and gratified" by the response to the system's roll out.

So it didn't sell as much as PS4 but they are still selling everything that is shipped. That's all good to me!

I agree with the OP. M$ would have told EVERYONE if they had sold the same or more than Sony at this point.

even if doesn't beat ps4 sales, I'm sure ms are more than happy with the xbox one's reception, especially at the $500 price tag and with profit per unit sold.  

PS4 has been out a full week longer. In what universe would the One have been able to match it's numbers in half the time? Of course it hasn't sold as much yet. The point is that it's selling as fast as they can produce the units. 

What I meant was that M$ would have announce that they had sold as many at the same pace.  Even if M$ had sold more over the Black Friday weekend, they would have announced it by now...

Sales numbers mean jack for the first 5 months of PS4 and Xbox One. They can only sell what they make. And both are sold out within hours of deliveries.

The test will be in 2-3years time.

Sales still mean more than these totally random stats they keep releasing. 

Technically, the PS4 has been out a full week longer AND a full week less.

Xbox isn't selling out in Australia and New Zealand still can get day one editions easily.
