100% completion after the game ran for 29:38 hours, according to the Wii U playlog. 182 deaths, but there's a good dozen unaccounted ones, because I just quit without saving a few times. About 20 deaths from Rosalina getting out of her bubble for one or the other reason and falling to death/being touched to death. 508 extra lives left, so you don't have to max out the count to get the fifth star on your save file.

You guys suck. That is all.

Screenshot or it didn't happen. =P

Ok. So it didn't happen. xD

Super Mario 3D World is like going to an amusement park full of unique rides. Each one is just long enough to give you a thrill and then it's on to the next one. There's even a couple of haunted fun houses. Of course, like any amusement park, you're probably going to have to kill at some point.

I'm currently in Boss Blitz in Flower World. And it's been a tough ride to this point. Nothing frustatingly tough, but still a good challenge. I've lost many lives in a few levels during the last 2 world. Got everything so far (Green stars, stamps and golden flags). I'm about to unlock Crown World. Can't wait to see what my stats look like. But I'm not holding my breath. I let my nefiews play with my game so it will be off by quite a bit, but I certainly ain't one who gets obsessed over something as trivial as a "perfect run" like someone with a misplaced over-inflated ego would do. -__-

The game has been pretty much like you described there: "like going to an amusement park full of unique rides. Each one is just long enough to give you a thrill and then it's on to the next one."

So much diversity, so much creativity and originality packed in a single game... It's outstanding how polished the game is, how great it looks, how tight the controls are... Reminds you why Nintendo is still in the industry, and why their games are so highly regarded. Everyone should get a Wii U, even if it's just for that one game. It's that good!

Just yesterday, I had a birthday party for one of my niece. I brought my Wii U, and the kids there had such a blast! They usually fight each other over who should go first or be next and similar silly things, but when they played this game, 4 players at a time, it was really nice to see them discover the game's secrets, helping each other get through the levels. And laughing when they'd make some funny mistakes. Their parents asked me about the Wii U, what it does, how much it costs, etc... And it seemed to me like it was only a matter of time before they'd get one. It also helps that they already have a Wii, so they already have a few extra controllers! =)

I think viva voce will end up giving the Wii U a deserved boost. If shown at the right time, with the right games.

My enthusiasm dropped to an all-time low when I discovered that I have to finish every single level with every character to get all stamps. This makes the unlockable Rosalina a really bad thing, because she's a fifth character! The game counts a level as completed as long as a character has grabbed on to the flagpole, so dragging a bubble along shortens the process (damn time limit to grab the flagpole after the first character has touched it), but there's the occasional annoying situation that the dragged character gets out of their bubble and dies, thus increasing the death count on my file. Multiplayer would of course be a better option, but finding people who have enough dedication and the skill to go through the later levels isn't easy. I would have to clear those levels mostly or all by myself in any case.

Yes, all characters play differently, but it's not that much of a difference. Attaining a complete file is more a grind, rather than fun.

Do you need that stamp to get to Champion Road? If that's the prereq, fuck that.

You need to collect all green stars, all stamps, and get the gold flag for all levels. Can be done with any combination of characaters and in one play-through. Source: Me five-starring the game.

Let's be a little more specific:

By the time you finish World Flower, if you want to access World Crown, you'll have every single stars from every levels up to this point, every golden flags, and you'll have every single stamps available at this point, leaving only 9 left to get after that.

Gonna get it on the 25th with a brand new Wii U WindWaker edition . I'll see just how good it is, expecting so many great things from everything I've read/seen.

That is correct. It only has to be done with one character per level, though,  and it doesn't have to be the same one for all the levels.

Yeah. It's only for the final 5 stamps that you need to complete every levels with every single characters to get them. Kind of a chore if you ask me. And since the stamps add nothing to the game other than the useless miiverse stuff... Nintendo really needs to work on how to properly reward their hardcore players.

"hey, here's a useless grind you have to achieve if you want everything in the game. No special ending for you, no new mode, nothing. It's just there for your shallow bragging rights!" So much incentive to achieve this kind of things, it's crazy... -__-

Yeah i saw people playing this on Twitch and it looks quite fun. Looks a lot more challenging than Super Mario 3D Land. Some good level design

Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

'When the people are being beaten with a stick, they are not much happier if it is called the people's stick'- Mikhail Bakunin

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

Amazing game indeed, one of the best console Mario Games for sure, even without the multiplayer, but the multiplayer takes fun to a even greater level.

I still have to finish it though.
I finally bought a 3DS, a legendary gold edition with Zelda:LBW, and things got out control XD.

INo you just need all green stars, all stamps and gold poles in all levels before the final world, you can't have all stamps without beating all the pole levels with every character including the last world is about it, basically the last ones are for collection purposes, nothing to do with unlock.I
