Forums - Gaming - Lets Break - Exploring the areas of games otherwise unseen.

So I have a habbit, a dirty horrible habbit that I like to indulge in even before I complete a game, that being to use just the normal controls and provided abilities to break free of the walled (both physical and invisible) confines of a game.

I've been doing it for as long as I can remember, and I figure other people do it too.

Recently I've been doing it to killzone shadow fall.

Some other ones I've done in the past with my partner.

My parner also did it extensively to Resistance 1, 2 and 3 with his brother when they first launched, that game has some seriously weird out of game areas.

Anyone else do the same? if so got any videos to share?

No I can't say I do that. The only games I ever did it on was in Halo games and that was for easter eggs and skulls so it wasn't really breaking the game (For the most part).

Any ways if that is what you enjoy then do it, no worries! Games should be played the way you want them to be played.

First one I found by myself accidentally was flying into the tower on top of the castle in Mario 64 with the wing cap made you fall down behind the castle door.

Omg I love doing this too! Oblivion was great for it. Just miles and miles of forests to walk about in if you can get over the snowy mountains.

The PC version of Deus-ex 1 was great for this too, because you could stack boxes. I specifically always chose the jumping augments to help me out with this :D

I did this all the time on the original halo for xbox. I would use ghosts to ride up a wall and climb onto places like blood gultch.

heres someones vid

I hacked my xbox too so i was able to jump dozens of feet in the air. I got onto all sorts of things not intended. Also used to use the warthog to spin as i drove of ledges so i'd get to the bottom in one piece. Explored lots of depths. One of he coolest places I explored turned out to be an easter egg.. I guess the bungie wanted you to explore lots because the put the most beautiful song in the game there for any that found it.

here's someones vid

I have no videos, but I often try and do it too, and I remember too trying to explore not easily reachable areas in Deus Ex, all Thief titles, Morrowind (very easy with fly potions or fly enchanted rings or other objects, more difficult with jump boosts, as the wrong landing from very high ones can easily kill even very strong characters), Quake II, Hexen, Gothic, Duke Nukem 3D and basically almost every title that allows it. And when I think again about it, I'm still a little pissed off because I couldn't find what small spot I was missing that prevented me from exploring 100% of Ecstatica II world.
