Yes.

If Shenmue 3 came out........... HELL YEAH...!!!!!

Nah. Don't release a Shenmue 3. Just remake the whole damn thing and include all 16 chapters in a single package. Better if they want to make new fans. And it's the way it should have been in the first place.

All 16 chapters in one game? blimey, it would be the worlds longest campaign, and by one hell of a margin too.

I don't want Yu Suzuki cutting huge chunks out of his vision and story just to put all 16 chapters in to one package.

Shunmue put SEGA at the time on life support. (well, all those "gamers" neglecting the Dreamcast played just as much of a part in my eyes)

Releasing everything all at once would be instant death.

Shenmue games aren't long...

Well, they are if you interact with every single piece of furniture...

I'm very excited about this generation so I will say yes, and hope for that to be true!

Shenmue 1&2 XBLA/PSN/eShop releases first would be great, Shenmue 1&2 still look pretty damn good graphically to this day, so i wouldn't want 1&2 to be remade. (more unnecessary costs)

Just port them out on every console & PC to maximise sales, and if all goes well, then make a full blown Shenmue 3 with todays technology.

If MGS5, FF15, and KH3 disappoint it's safe to say I'm done with vidya. Rome 2 already broke my heart.

Considering we are only at chapter 5 by the end of Shenmue 2, i'll stick with........ world's longest campaign.

Besides, Shenmue is so immersive, i want to knock on doors at random and poke about in peoples drawers and so on.

Nope, because the only successful mainstream "innovation" we'll see will be better textures, frames, resolution, and bigger maps. Same games, prettier graphix yo.

Welcome to the new current Gen guyz. Experience the content. Greatness awaits. Hubbub.

We have PS EYE, PS4 VR Headset, Kinect 2.0, and Gamepad, what the fuck else do you want?

For them to actually be utilized in a meaningful and gamechanging way because right now they're used for AR freeware and maps. That's not innovation.

What the fuck, they literally just released this very month and you're already calling this gen uninspired and not innovative based on launch titles? Wow, also the PS4 VR Headset is a gamechanger and it hasn't even been officially announced, however if it's anything like Oculus Rift, then I really don't know what your expecting.

No. Continually rising development costs means a modest success is unacceptable in many cases. We'll see an even higher proportion of games targeting as broad a base as possible, eschewing innovation and risk-taking in favor of tried-and-true (and tired and old) concepts. Those "gems" we love from generations past will be nowhere to be found, replaced by lackluster AAA titles one after another.

The only thing that might save it is the indie devs, but even then I think PC and mobile are by far the more lucrative markets for those guys.

No, and no. Besides, it's too early to tell how this generation will end up. Could we stop trying to make humungous predictions like these that are leagues ahead of their time?

PS Eye and Kinect have been out for years. Nothing. And with the PS4 VR headset, I'd like you to think back to every Playstation periferal that has ever been substacially supported for more than a year. None. How many have there been? A ton. Take that as an indicator of that headset's fate.

And hell yeah I'm basing it on launch titles. Super Mario 64 was a game changer. Halo: Combat Evolved was a game changer. Wii Sports was a game changer. F-Zero and Super Mario World? Game changers. Duck Hunt, Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda - Game changers. This idiotic idea that launch titles should get a free pass at mediocrity just because "their launch titles" just shows how stagnent modern games have become. Launch games are supposed to show the full potencial of what is to come. They are supposed to inspire awe into the creative minds of both developers and consumers.

The most innovative, "next gen" games we've seen in this new and now current generation come from the mediocre ZombiU, the slightly better Nintendo Land, and the VERY innovative, but much too late Tearaway. That's it. EVERYTHING else is prettier sameness. Sure there's a touch pad gimmick here and a gamepad map there. Opportunity is nothing without utilization. PS3's six axis had opportunity. PS Move had opportunity. PS EYE (because the camera for the PS4 is called the PS Camera now) had opportunity. Kinect had opportunity. Opportunuty wasted. The DS used it's opportunity. The Wii used it's opportunity. The N64 used it's opportunity. The PSX used it's opportunity. The 3DS is using it's opportunity. Halo used it.

No one will be talking about Super Mario 3D World, or Killzone, or Rise when this new gen ends. And so far, it looks like we won't be talking about anything. None of these games are nessiserily bad, but they most definitely are NOT "next gen," it's last gen with fresh paint and a bigger canvas.
