Forums - Gaming - InFamous: Second Son Pre-Orders on par with Titanfall on XB1

Meh, I think its fans bluffing. The Infamous IP is on a downward trend, and with a low install base on PS4, itll be even lower the 3rd time around.

If there is one thing I learned about preorders, the people who place them are impatient and fickle.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Titanfall=game on 3 platforms in a sea of other shooters. ISS only game worth hyping(ATM) for PS4 2014 in a fairly unique genre. I dont see the appeal of Titanfall, save for the critical acclaim.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

I'd be happy if infamous sells at least half the numbers of titanfall as i think that preorders for titanfall(obviously bought exclusiv to try to create another halo hype)will skyrocket thx to a huge million dollar campaign from ms/ea.

As Titanfall made the mistake to be not console exclusiv(and console shooters always suck compared to mouse controlled pc shooters and no sp will hurt also) overall sales will be at 5 mio,infamous3 with 2.5 mio-i hope for those numbers as quality is high and dlc content for Inf2 was one of few being worth its money(i liked it more than the complete crackdown2 game)

Titan fall will outsell it but i'm glad that it is doing well

Titanfall will NOT sell 5 million simply because there won't be enough Xbox's in the wild. I doubt, at $500.00, there will even BE 5 million consoles sold in the US by the time it comes out. Even if there was, it wouldn't be much more than that and then you're looking at a 95% attach rate which is ridiculous.

Overall, I think Titanfall will be a hit and sell well but it's not going to have too big of an impact on Sony. Halo didn't even dent PS2 sales and Halo was 10 times the juggernaut.

The split user base will harm Titanfall numbers.

Exactly what I've been saying. The 360 version will outsell the Xbox One version.

Xbox One install base will be even lower, and by a huge margin I might add.

Resistance sold 4 million and it was a PS3 launch title

I have a feeling Infamous will do poorly. The last two games did somewhat poorly on a system with a good size install base. I predict SS sales will be around 1-2 million lifetime due to a small install base and obscurity of the series.

Titanfall will do 2-5 million(On XBO; lifetime) due to the press and Microsoft`s advertising.

i honestly think titan fall i going to disappoint a lot of people (sales wise). online multiplayer only will hurt it.

infamous looks amazing though to glad to see it get the props it deserves.

Dissapoint sounds a bit harsh but I have noticed something. When customers come in asking whats the next big thing for XBO the first thing that comes to mind for me is Titanfall. Almost everyone has heard of that game by now but most don't realize it is multiplayer only. I mention this as a positive for them(Shooter single players are usually filler) yet they actually react differently than what I would expect. I personally refuse to buy any game that I cannot enjoy to some degree by myself.

I do on the other hand think it will perform just fine. EA kinda sucks at advertising most things but for something as big as this they will pull it together. I imagine heavy advertising and minimum of 4million sales.

Infamous is definitely a lot more popular than most realize. Sony has an underlining reason for releasing games for free on PSN+. Its the F2P method, get the game or predecessor in as many people's hands as possible to create future interest or purchases. Infamous 2 would have sold a lot better if not put as a freebie, but allowing so many ppl to play it means a lot more people know what Infamous SS is and many will want to experience that as well. Infamous SS's views on Youtube are the highest out of all the exclusives.

If I were to geuss, I think Infamous SS will sell 3-4 million as well, if its REALLY good than maybe 6mill LT.

4 million across all platforms?  maybe.  on xbone?  no.

online multiplayer games needs an active community to play against or it isn't fun.   titanfall will launch when xbox is less than 5M consoles sold so the most it could hope for at launch is ~2M; a very repectable attach rate.  a far greater attach rate than i believe possible when guys like me (who won't buy an online only game) simply won't buy it.  single player isn't th filler to me,.. multiplayer is the filler which on most games i don't touch.    ...and as nearly all online game's communities go bust within a month or two of launch i absolutely believe titanfall's community will too fail soon after launch.   ..and with it so does titanfalls sales legs.

i said disappoint.  i mean disappoint.

Well yea, I meant across all platforms.

You have similar tastes to me. I feel like I am getting a gimped package if a game is totally dependant on multiplayer. Someone brought up a good point a few posts back. What is Titanfall going to be like with split fanbases amongst PC/360/XBO? Do they actually have connected servers? because so far MS has not had a single game that allowed crossplay in that manner. So if it doesn't then most might opt to get it on PC and 360 as more ppl are likely to have those versions. I had a similar case in store today. Mother was returning XBO versions of COD Ghost because her two sons want to still be able to play with their friends, whom won't be getting XBO. That could prove a big issue for Titanfall's staying power.

from my understanding the 360 version isnt even going to be handled by the same team that is doing the xone/pc version so they wouldnt be able to do cross gameplay anyway
