sales in japan have dropped dramatically the past few weeks and is being outsold by the psp. 4 in 5 people don't own a ds in japan which means it only has a 20% saturation rate. In the Us vgchart graphs show that even the Ps2 has outsold the DS at this point of it's lifetime. However sales in Europe remain very strong.

 

Do you think the DS is a fad in Japan and NA considering the above? Europe is excluded given the DS's success there.

Yes, I think it's a fad. The only consoles that aren't fads are the REAL next gen consoles (PS3 and Xbox 360) because sales are good all the time for hardcore gamers.

Yes it is a fad that is selling better than PS2 WW cause you know that's what happens in fads. They start of with great sales and then get greater sales and keep getting great sales. That i the definition of a fad.
