If you would have had a Laptop with a 780m then yes but this is not equal to the PS4.
To specify I refer to the GPU. |
then stop referring to the GPU and look at the overall picture you donkey

Of course it's linked. If people have not seen any games that is better looking than Shadow Fall on PC, it means that Shadow Fall deserve a great congrats for being a launch up titles on a 400$ hardware. That's all, I know that must hurt to admit it for some of you, but it's the case. On Internet, the overall reaction of tendancious people (we all know how everyone on the net is modest and honest...) to the game is "Meh", "Can be better", "Pc games are better looking", "The wii U can do better, even the 3DS can", and other shit things like this. Nope, look at Shadow Fall in action and let's all shadow our pride and admit it : Even compared to high ends pc game, Shadow Fall is up to the comparison and that the game is impressive ( best line up title ever ? Imo yes) |
The reality is the more you grow up/get older, the harder it is to blown away by something, its quite clear, nba2k14, killzone and ryse are a generation ahead of anything released on ps3/360. the truth is more powerful hardware is good for gaming unless you only play exclusives, and not third party games, just look multiplatform games on ps4, battle field, AC4, BF4, CODghosts, and trine 2 all run much better on ps4 and at crystal clear 1080p, while on the wiiu most mulitplatform games are playing worse then current gen versions with longer load times because frame rate cause they didn't go for a powerful console.

Older gamers usually play a lot of their first loves. I regularly emulate those SNES games so don't start imagining we lost our ways and means of benchmarking.

Donkey nice...
I looked at the overall picture and its INFERIOR no matter how you turn it. The GPU is not even half as strong as the one in the PS4 the I7 is above but it wont change much. The Ram situation is inferior compared to the PS4. The whole system will offer a whole lot less power for graphics processing. Its running a very ressource hungry OS and not to forget Direct X the ressource hog is going to annhilate any CPU Advantages.
Its not equal to the PS4 end of story.

yeah sorry for the donkey part
basically it is obvious that if you start just comparing two aspects of complex systems you will not have a proper comparison

Where did I say my laptop is better than PS4. Here's what I said:
"My laptop has been doing these kind of graphics for a while now."

well in my case I am regularly blown away by graphics
especially sandbox games a la Skyrim / GTA

Never mind.
I just mentioned the GPU because there the gap is huge. The CPU has certain advantages but its running Windows 7. Games have to be optimized for Direct X which offers a whole less Draw Calls even on a superior CPU. The DDR3 Ram might be 12gb but its a lot slower than the GDDR5 and not qualified for Graphics computing which needs high bandwith. The 2gb Vram is not enough for next gen games. The Processing Power of the GPU is alot less and its an older architecture and the mobile variant on a bigger node. Its simply false to say that this laptop provides graphics on the level of a PS4.
Ofocurse NOW there are Laptops stronger than a PS4. The 780m is stronger yet the lack of optimization will eat up some of that power. So I guess a 780m laptop will perform on par atleast.

Hmm well you have to specify these kind of graphics because they are certainly inferior to what the PS4 has to offer and even Xbox one.
