I expected this. The story to the 1st one was left wide open.
The trailer seems to show the dark hour occuring in Inaba, complete with it's very own Burj Tartarus!

The Persona fanbase is stronger on Playstation systems, we agree on that. But the debut of Catherine was positive from both Playstation and Xbox 360, yet instead of making multiplatform a new entry on your RPG franchise, you instead make a 2D-fighting game over the fourth game story. Do you really think that was a good move for newcomers on the 360? Let's compare it with Final Fantasy. Yes, it has a bigger following and can spend more millions in advertising. But when they put XIII on the 360, the game managed to sell two million units. Do you really think it would have sold as good if instead of making the next chapter of the saga multiplatform, Square Enix would have made a 2D fighting game about Final Fantasy XI and put it on 360? Really?
That was as dumb as SEGA making the first and second entry from Yakuza multiplatform on a HD release for WiiU Japan only and then say "poor WiiU sales will make us not putting any other Yakuza game on that machine". They simply screwed any fanbase they could have had. |
Catherine has little to do with Persona, i dont know why your so hung up on that. Catheine had NO prior fanbase since it was a brand new series. Hell its not even in the same genre as Persona OR the spinoff fighting game, (which incidently fighters do much better on PS systems anyway). They havent made a new Persona game for home consoles since the end of the PS2 days that was years ago so that has very little bearing on P4A.
For all the bundling and exclusive ads FF13 had in the states for 360 IMHO it should have done way better. Or at least sold better than the PS3 version in the US. Again not quite so sure where you are getting at to be honest. FF never had a fighting series except for the PSP games. Hell lets not even bring up 13-2 sales for 360 which were NOT good and I dont see Lighting returns doing much better.
Did Sega say anything of the sort? Are you mad that they are not making this game for 360? IMHO P4A had no buisness on 360 in the first place, thats not a popular opinion and im not saying that cause i hate 360 but the sales show that there was very little interest in game and its not like the PS3 had a Persona game prior to that so that argument seems like a stretch to me.
Hell for all we know the game could still be released on 360 just in the US

That would be even worse. It means Europe gets screwed.
