Here's my current collection of 3DS systems...

I wanted to collect all of the limited editions, but missed a few key ones early on.

I'll have to post a picture of my regular and limited edition game releases another time.

Plus ALBW i got for free during the Club Nintendo Winter offer, i know its pretty measly but unfortunately i'm not made of money and my parents don't allow me to get games too often :'(

This is a place for hardcore gamers and you're a game developer so a lot of the people you know are likely to be hardcore gamers as well.
I doubt this place is very representative of the average 3ds owner.

Anyway, I only own one 3DS, I'm too pragmatic to buy multiple devices of the same thing. Which is funny as I can also have a highly erratic behaviour.

I know 10 year olds with multiple, in Japan and UK.

....though I will consider upgrading if the standard n3DS is released in NA

Heh, I never had a DS either, so I spent a good bit of money and time when I first got my 3DS hunting down some DS games I always wanted to play. I'm still hunting down quite a few, though, since they are either ridiculously expensive on eBay or harder to find.

I am lucky to live around a vast number of mom and pop shops, so hunting down old DS games isn't really a problem for me. Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon was the most I spent on a DS game ($45 brand new). The collection I have there is a good place to start... but if your not into Pokémon I recommend: The World ends with you, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, and Final Fantasy IV. All classics!

As for my situation to be fair. Previous gens I was not this crazy about limited edition system. The fact that 3ds has more core game and less shovelware kind of makes it an attractive piece of kit to own multiple systems. Also kind of dissapointed by this gen so far game wise so I am probably subsituting the extra consoles for games lol.
