This...
I'm too hot to stay home listening to the stupid Wii Fit Trainer, I'd rather go to the gym or park and look to real hot guys while I work out :P

Not that I think Wii fit is a bad thing but its motivating people to perform basic exercises they just wouldn`t do on their own without a tv telling them what to do, some people need that. But the marketing of Wii fit tried to turn it into some miracle cure for overweight which is plain stupid. A chair can give you a better workout. |
So your problem isn't Wii Fit, it's that it's marketing presented it as a good way to exercise? I guess I understand that. Sort of like how the ps4 marketing makes it seem like their games are a great way to drive cars and shoot people.... Wait, what's the purpose of marketing again?

2. Some people don't have enough money to get to a gym. 3. Some people work strange hours making it difficult to get to the gym. 4. Some people like video games, and like working out, and therefore being able to combine the two into the limited free time they have. 5. Wii Fit is more fun than typical excercise, and some people need a spoonful of sugar to make the medicine go down. 6. Some people have never worked out regularly and need an easy or low impact routine to get into it. 7. Some people like to supplement heavier workouts with lighter ones on off days. 8. Not all activities are balance related. Push ups for instance are push ups. 9. The balance board is an incredibly accurate scale, and that alone is worth about 50 bucks. 10. Some people legitimately need to work on their balance. 11. With the balance board you can use Wii Fit while watching TV instead of just sitting. 12. Some people are busy and do not have a gym nearby. Lots of great reasons to use Wii Fit. You may not get it, and it may not be for you, but don't make the egocentric assumption that "not for you" means "bad product". |
C-C-C-Combo.
But honestly, Wii FIt U is a sidegrade at best in my usage. The trampoline game is great but I'm gonna stick with Plus.

Why's that? I'm bummed (and confused) that they took out some excercises like Rhythm Parade and Circus juggling, but other than that, it's pretty much better in every way. They've added new modes to most games, and the balance excercises are a bit more active. Rowing crew and trampoline target are particularly fun and actually a decent workout. Moreover, the off screen play is a huge feature for me. Being able to burn a few calories while I'm watching TV is a big deal.

nah its not the marketing I guess its the people who fall for that marketing.
Wii Fit U is not a game and its a trainer for body but Knack an ryse are games so i would still get these games.
So, Feel Emotions, Experience Adventure/Action, Challenge Game, Solve puzzles and Have fun.
PlayStation is about all-round "New experiences" using new IP's to provide great diversity for everyone.
Xbox is always about Online and Shooting.
Nintendo is always about Fun games and milking IP's.
