Forums - Gaming - Online COD fans, your opinions of ghost!?!?!?!

what ever platform.

This  is my 4th straight day not touching the thing. I think the "cod fatigue" thing people were talking about has finally hit me. I am used to no likeing the trearch game and them loving the infinity ward games but this time.......I don't know.

Basically, the game feels like a step backwards more than sideways. The game feels fundamentally just like MW3. Now that game was one of my favorite installments and thanks to me not likeing BO2 at all I spent a long time with it and my K/D in ghost as a result is a 2.4. Now Despite that, I still don't feel any motivation at all to pick up the game anymore. This fatigue has come even faster than it did in black ops 1 and 2 for me.

The map designs are garabage. They are bigger than usual with too many long open sight lines and to make matters worse, in the current gen versions there is a player limit of 6 vs 6. So we have bigger maps and less players. Thats a sure way to kill the hectc nature that defines cod.

the kill streaks arent inspired. I've tried and obtained them all and nothing feels rewarding at all.

Now with MW3 when I feel tired, I go to my theater mode, watch some clips of me raping in ways that impress myself and I get the urge to play and then I do just that......In ghost, theater mode vanished. (one of the main reasons I call this a step back.)

I know this has been what cod critics have been saying forever but true fans knew the difference. but this time is the 1st time a cod game has totally, not brought anything new to the table at all............well nothing worth mentioning that is. complete disappoinment.

How are other regular online cod players liking, or hating this game?

Spawn camping is still a thing... Quick Scoping is still a thing... Snipers Running and Knifing is a still a thing... Now just with more dogs... Its fun for a week then gets boring... Oh and huge fps dips on PC versions

I think they went downhill since Mw2

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Hmm, well I've put in over 50 days playing COD since World at War, and in my opinion it's actually really good...mostly.

Pros

+The hit detection/ connection is the best in the series

+Killstreaks aren't overpowered, so the action is mostly gun on gun which I like

+Weapons are all pretty effective

+More class specialization then ever before

+Cranked game mode is great

Cons

-The maps are pretty hit or miss, although better than MW3 imo

-No theater

-No mute all feature in game menus

-Weak stat keeping

-Player collision is annoying like all Infinity Ward games

-Graphics are almost as dull as MW3

-Spawns are pretty bad, although they will be patched

-No competitive playlist (no capture the flag, no hardpoint)

Best COD games in order IMHO (I never played COD 4).

Black Ops 2
Ghost
MW2
World at War
Black Ops
MW3

Even though the cons list is larger, the pros still outweigh the cons imo.  I will update my list if I can think of more.

Well it is certainly better than that awful single player. So i played some yesterday and had some good games.

  • Damage is quite high. It is as if all guns are running stopping power. Person who sees the other first wins most of the time.
  • The unlocking attachments and menus seem more confusing compared to pick 10 system of Black Ops 2.
  • Some maps are just way too big. Running around in empty space for a while. No Ground War doesn't help.
  • Enemies are hard to see. Sometimes i just wish they went red vs blue. Problem is the bland colour compared to previous games.
  • Too many dogs running around and then you got to shoot them. Where is Peta on this?
  • Haven't really experienced much killstreaks. I guess things just went down after MW2. More of a gun game which is okay.
Edit: Oh yes. Spawn are horrible. Spent too much time on fish AI.

Ok just remembered so stuff

* when you are in a game and someone's mic starts making annoying sounds, you have to find their main profile just to mute them. all other cods let you do this from the in game leaderboard.

* Running host connections but connection bars are removed so you can't tell if you're in a bad connection game until you lose every gun fight.

cod ranking IMO

cod 4
mw2
wow
mw3
black ops
black ops 2
ghost

The single player is the worst in the series, I just struggled to care and having sharks and then not being able to kill them was crap. When playing online it feels so easy to cheese and it seems Battlefield has a far batter multiplayer experience on offer.
They need to re boot COD from here, it will be interesting to see where it goes. COD fatigue? It's certainly possible, just look at Guitar Hero. It went from being the game everyone wanted to play to so so quite quickly.
