Update: DD_Bwest: I just turned on my PS4, Was asked to update PSN, i said later. SO i was in the UI not connected to the PSN. I selected to play resogun. It asked me to update the system, i said later.

The game loaded and i played resogun. never connecting to the PSN.

Torillian: yeah I'm home and I can play Resogun and Sound Shapes with the ethernet cable completely unplugged.

Looks like the problem is the guy at IGN didn't set his PS4 as his main PS4.

edit:  the video says that content purchased on PSN is only accessible when connected to the internet, even single player games.  

If you buy games digitally you can't play them without being connected to the PSN, even if they are single player games.

they did say your content can be utilized in every PS4 you want as long as you are signed in... but in your master PS4 should not be the case... maybe he did not register the PS4 and set it as his master PS4...

Bullshit, I've played resogun off line.

First I've heard of something like this, and it wouldn't make a lot of sense to me since as far as I know you can still only share your digital stuff between two consoles so this would be the detriments of the family sharing plan without any of the benefits.  That said I'll be home in an hour or so so I'll let you know.  If it's true it's extremely shitty of Sony imo and an unfortunate decision without much logic.

That's part of why I buy as much as I can hard copy. I'll leave the little bite games exclusive to PSN for digital purchases. Hard to swallow though.
