Forums - Microsoft - Xbox One Cold Boot Takes 1 Minute and 8 Seconds, Runs Hotter, Consumes More Power In Standby Than PS4

Can't wait to see Amazon go ham
Lies and bad words were everywhere on social media and internet cause the PS4 is such a small piece of hardware and all feared it will run to hot.
Now a console that is twice the size, should have better cooling system and has the powerbrick outside of the console runs even hotter.

If there isn't at least the same amount of crying on the internet, especially on Amazon USA there is definitely something wrong.
4°c hotter equals on the internet around...8000% failure rate and burning down foxconn right?

you just said something very insightful

Christ when did waiting a minute become such a chore. The world we live in eh.

I see it as more MS being an American company and Sony being Japanese. When it comes to consuming power or energy I get the impression Americans don't give a toss. I could be wrong of course this is just me.

This would have absolutely no impact on US sales. In Europe where the people like to talk "green" maybe, I don't know.

Last time around Greenpeace made headlines about the HD consoles not being green enough and no one really listened.

Well they might (I honestly don't think so) not care so much about power consumption, but they sure as hell care about heat, cause the hotter an electronic device runs the worse, they didn't design the X1 so big and with an external power brick without a reason, they want to keep that thing as cool as possible.

The minor difference in heat generated and the power consumption don't really bother me but the 1 min 8 sec. boot time seems awfully long.

honestly though, how often are you going to cold boot?  i cold boot my vita like once every 6 or more months and only when something hangs.  there is some bug i've hit a few times with purchasing something on psn that hangs my vita so unless that happens it is always in standby.

the power consumption in standby mode worries me more and to be honest,.. it's not a worry about the system itself but rather the tree-hugger part of me that thinks an aweful lot of power is going to be wasted by these next gen consoles.   won't stop me from doing it but i'll feel bad from time to time.  :(

My modern PC boots in 15 seconds. Uses Windows 8

Is it a new one? SSD or HDD? if HDD how many RPMs?

They took the temperature from the outside of the case right?
In that case it could mean anything. Even that the hotter temperature is the better choice...

must-have-list for platforms i don't own yet:

WiiU: Donkey Kong

XBone: Dead Rising 3, Ryse

This is a bombshell how?
-how many people unplug their devices after using them....
-15w ... thats another lightblub
-49 degrees =cold

cry me a river
