Forums - Gaming - LIST of ALL released exclusive x360 games

But why should I have to? My consoles are plug in and play. PC games are not so much better than console games to make me go through the additional hassle of Dosbox or dual operating systems.

I haven't just bought a new computer and I don't own Vista. My fiance does however and getting old games to run on it is a joke. Age of Mythology specifically said it wouldn't work on Vista but it does while Empire Earth and Glory of the Roman Empire didn't mention it on the packaging but will not work.

Oh, so when you plug in your Wii, you can slip your old SNES cartriges in the disc drive and boot it up?  Please, console backwards compatability isn't even comparable to PC backwards compatability.  Is it more of a hassle to reboot your PC and select a different OS or to pull your SNES out of the closet, unplug your Wii, and your cable hookup and plug it in?

It's fine if PC has the best gaming available. Congratulations, you win! That's not the point. The point is, PC is in it's own category. Consoles are in theirs. Handhelds are in theirs. Mobile phones and iPods are in theirs. The PC runs better sure, but you pay an arm and a leg to have it. Back in the day, the pinnacle of console gaming was the NeoGeo. It produced arcade quality graphics, which was unprecedented at the time, and cost about $600. The games cost about $100-$200. Yes it was better, but you get what you pay for.

Here's a challenge. Put a name on the PC. Every console comes with parts manufactured by the same guys that make PC parts. So esentially each console is using similiar parts. Now each console has a name attached, Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft. Each console has it's first, second and third party games. Now attach those rules to the PC. You really can't. If you could you'd obviously say Microsoft. What makes a console unique is the look, the insides and the operating system. A PC can change insides, has many looks, and has multiple operating systems. The most popular of those is Windows.

Here's another challenge. Find me a PC made of parts available in November 2005 that can last me through approximately 2011, playing any game available for PC between those times. Find me a PC made in late 1996 that can play games through 2001.

You cannot compare PC and console gaming. They are different beasts. You can say PC has more exclusives and I can say that my $400 investment will last me through 5 or 6 years. You can say that this $400 PC can play Crysis on medium settings or whatever, but will it be able to play Far Cry 2 next year on medium settings? How about Spore? How about Starcraft 2? How about the 2009 year of PC gaming? Will it even be able to play the same ports it's getting from Microsoft? Will it play Gears of War 2 or Halo 3? Probably not.

Thanks for the post.
No wonder I bought 360 over a year ago. There are some great games on that list.

I will definitely buy PS3 - when they have an exclusive list like this. (heard 80G is on it's way out, Crazzyman, do you know what the next SKU is going to be?

To all the PC gamers. All your points are valid, but for me I'd much rather sit or lie down on my couch and play great games on my 58" T.V. and please give 360 a break, I think they deserve to say GeoW, Halo3, and others are their games.

you can also play PC on your HDTV, but let's not get into that. We are not (atleast not me) saying 360 is crap or anything like that, If I didn't have a PC and enjoy PC games, I would've been VERY tempted to be a Xbox player because of all the 360/PC games that aren't coming out on PS3.

What I don't like is people excluding PC as a viable gaming platform (that and meaning of the term exclusive) when it's the most popular platform in the world.

Agreed, just saying that saying the are exclusives because they other platform they are on is "Just the PC" and that it "doesn't count" or that it doesn't affect sales is ridiculous.

The thing is that most of us aren't discounting it as a viable platform, we're just acknowledging that it is very different from console gaming. It's about as close to console gaming as a handheld device. All three play games, all three use very different interfaces to get there. Two are plug and play, one is DIY.

While you PC gamers have what is my preferred platform for several genres (FPS, RTS, MMO), games like UT3, BioShock, Gears, etc. deserve some kind of asterisk for the "exclusives" the consoles share with PC because PC gaming and console gaming are worlds apart in terms of demographics. I know loads of people that refuse to play anything but PC and vice versa, moreso than I know people who refuse to play Xbox vs. PS3 or vice versa.

^^I play games on my PC but mostly on 360. I agree PC is a great gaming platform. that's why I said that PC gamers have valid points.

I think most 360 players would like to separate PC and consoles and I would agree with them because that's how I think. My computer is in my office and prefer to play most games in my living room where I have a decent system hooked up. (58" HDTV and surround sound)

I still think 360 owners deserve to say Halo 3 and other games are exclusive. I play these games on 360 because I don't like waiting. Plus I didn't buy or upgrade my PC to play GeoW and Halo 3, I purchased 360 for them.
PC players know we have many more games anyways.

BTW when will PS3 have an exclusive list like this?
I didn't study the games coming out this year for PS3 yet. I'm thinking about purchasing PS3 and it would be great if they had a great exclusive games. (not just Final Fantasy - I can't get into it for some reason)

Amongst others, the PS3 has or will have before the end of 08:

Lair
Resistance 1 & 2
Heavenly Sword
Ratchet & Clank
MGS4
GT5 & Prologue (hopefully full version will release in 08)
Haze
Killzone 2
LittleBigPlanet
Uncharted
Folklore

There are more. That's just off the top of my head.

just to pipe in my 2 cents....if i have a choice between PC and console for a game i choose console version 100% of the time. I just prefer it. you can rant all you want about the advantages of mouse/keyboard but i just don't find mouse/keyboard as inviting and thus receive less enjoyment.

Thanks Rocketpig.

I think I would purchase PS3 for Resistence 2.  haven't played Resistence yet but it looks cool.  I'll wait and see what the next SKU is going to be.

I can't believe most folks didn't see the purpose behind this thread Its Crazzy man who started it and I would like to think most persons are aware of his posting history [anything not PS3 basically sucks]. Although it did branch into a somewhat interesting debate on the viability of the PC as a gaming platform, its obvious this was just subtle, jab at the X360 as a worthwhile investment.
