Forums - Sony - Changing PS4 HDD -> Help!

So.. Both harddrives are 9.5 mm, 2,5" with 1 TB of space.

One of them is an SSHD with 64 mb cache.
Other one is a HDD which has 8 mb cache.

Both have an rpm of 5400.

How big is the difference here? The price is nearly doubled for the SSHD one so I want to make sure it's worth it :>.

IGN did a comparison.

Links please... But I would try to get 7200 rpm

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

I'd rather not get either. Just go with a pure SSD.

Too expensive. I mostly want it for the 2x storage :>

i would wait a few months to see results from others before changing the HDD some HDDs types and brands caused issues with the PS3 for example

also you should consider just a plain 7200rpm HDD its cheaper and should also provide gains they also have 6bps data transfer and 64MB cache

those gains look laughable on ign why in so many case did the load time slow down?

Fine then just find an SSHD with the fastest read and write speeds along with the lowest access times. (Trust me on this.)

But 7200rpm generates more heat :(
