Forums - Gaming - Does the Internet Hinder our Enjoyment of Games?

It usually sucks when you always have to be connected to it, like a Borg or something.

Uh, you have the choice to spoil or not spoil a game. The internet is not at fault. Just like how Fast Food places aren't at fault at making people fat. Like right now. I have no idea how the 12th Doctor Who looks like. Since I just avoid articles.

We still look at gaming footage, and that decreases the suprises we have in games.

Again, you choose to look. I didn't look at a single Pokemon X & Y video, article, image etc. Not even the leak. I knew nothing of the game.

I think so....its all too temping to see spoilers and "ruin" the mystery of seeing the game yourself.

Sure people preach to just stay offline....but seriously, few can actually follow through.

It is like a gamer swearing off EA for life....but then buy Battlefield 4 a year later. lol

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Read the article/forum post headline. "Says Pokemon X&Y EPIC SPOILERS" Don't look. It's will power. Simple as that. Just like if you're on a diet. You want to be thin. Then do it. And don't lie to youtself, while you're eating a bag of cookies.

I am thin with a full fat diet

If i've never played a game before. I don't watch any videos, read any guides or anything. I just play it. I only check videos or guides if i get really stuck.

Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

Yup, I almost always go on media blackout for games I want. Did it for Diablo, Bioshock Infinite, Uncharted 2-3 and TLoU. Makes playing them so much more enjoyable.
