Forums - Gaming - Will there be another Killzone after Shadowfall?

Say if the low reviews drastically hinders the game's slaes and it only goes on to sale about 2.5M lifetime because well, the users percept it as an average game just as the reviewers did.

Do you think Gorilla will continue on the series?

As much as I enjoy the game I hope not, like I don't dislike the series story or anything but do they want to work on Killzone for the rest of their lifes? After awhile you just have to call it quits. Like how ND did with their IP's every generation.

What do you think?

The game should be able to sell more than enough to warrant a sequel. Unless it get's an average under 70, I don't see that changing.

I'm pretty sure Guerilla said they were working on a new Ip.... Could be wrong.

Currently own:

  • Ps4

Currently playing: Witcher 3, Walking Dead S1/2, GTA5, Dying Light, Tomb Raider Remaster, MGS Ground Zeros

I can see SF to be the best selling killzone to date.
But theyv' stated they are already working on a new IP

A lot of devs move on from a series even if it makes them enough money, I just wonder if Guerilla tired of making it.

I don't feel that's going to be the case here. It's first party game, and with SF it's probably going to end up becomming one of Sony's largest IP's. One thing is third party devs, they don't have to sell systems, Sony does. It's possible Guerilla will make something else, but in that case somebody else will pick it up.

I was waiting for this thread as soon as the reviews hit.

Yes. There will be another Killzone after ShadowFall. It's a series that Sony thinks a great deal of, after all, it has been almost a decade since the original Killzone landed and received a somewhat similar mixed-to-positive reception.

Killzone is Killzone. It's never been a huge seller, yet, it has that loyal following of fans. I can only see that fanbase getting bigger with the release of ShadowFall. I still expect it to sell around 5 million.

I think we won't ever see another Killzone unless Shadow Fall does tremendously well, sales wise. (like 3-4+ million)
