Forums - Sony - PS4 Online exclusives are performing much better as online entries

Looking at the Review Scores for PS4 online only and retail game releases their is a clear difference in scores.

It seems that with the launch of a new console big releases are much harder to handle than moderate to small online releases and result in a gap in quality between the two.

Killzone Shadowfall - 73

Knack - 59

Flower - 87.5

Sound Shapes - 90

Resogun - 82

Wait for Infamous xp.

Kinda happy about resogun and sound shapes tough.

Killzone seems to be great from reviewers such as GT and IGN, and more than competent from most I read. I am sure the limited time was a huge factor in the game's score for some. But I am more than satisfied with what I read about it so far, especially from GameTrailers. Knack I think was a casualty of overreach. Both Studio Japan and Cerny seem to be undertaking quite a lot, so in this sense I agree with you since larger games are much more difficult to produce when you consider time constraints. Larger games need considerably more time for polish, and there are few exceptions that have escaped this at launch (Halo: Combat Evolved on XB, Rogue Squadron on GC).

I'm sure inFAMOUS and DriveClub won't suffer from this, especially since they were delayed. They'll get the polish they need to be good - great titles.

Maybe InFamous but Drive Club will be compared to death to Forza or Gran Turismo. KZ:SF couldn't escape being compared to COD:G and BF4. So my expectation is Drive Club will suffer like KZ:SF did.

I suspect DC will be the weaker of the two, especially if Forza delivers (and it likely will). We will have to wait and see. The first Halo was an absolute mess when it was shown before launch, and to my surprise (and many others) it turned out to be a great game.

Considering that 2 of them are ports,Resogun is the better game of the lineup.

Officially, no, but according to my friend who works for SCEA, it was originally supposed to be a launch title, but later pushed back to 2014 (hence delayed). Whether it was for quality or strategic reasons I can't say, but it will definitely benefit in the former sense because of this as opposed to being a rushed launch title. .
