Forums - Gaming - Sony: Native 1080p allows you to “be a better gamer”

The future is now and its 1080p!

It works for racing games, although without a bigger screen it won't help much. On a 92" screen it's much much easier to dodge traffic at high speed in 1080p then 720p. 12 ft from a 52" tv I crash all the same.

1080p still isn't be enough to get rid of big glowing power ups, outlined enemies etc. Better lighting and no full screen AA is key to not having things blend into the background.

And 20 years ago it was "blast processing" allows you to be a better gamer.

I guess they mean that enemies will look alot more clearer in the distance. A game rendered in 1080p with the enemy at distance of 300m will look alot more clearer and less blurrier than a game rendered in 720p so that players will be able to discern objects and enemies at a farther distance.

60fps can potentially "make you a better gamer." 16:9 aspect ratio can give you an advantage vs 4:3 players. The Mouse + Keyboard combo gives you far greater accuracy than gamepad players. 1080p? lol, really? "Pixel perfect accuracy." roflmfao!

Cerny's statements make more sense than Shuhei's, and are more factual besides. Though he did sidestep the whole "distance" argument.

Totally agree.

All you complainers need to go play a PS360 game with a sniping level and see what happens if you don't use the scope.

Might as well prescribe mother nature a PS4 graphics card, cause without a scope your sniper rifle is worth the same as a carbine on the fog.

You can use the scope for the final shot, but I'm refering to finding the bad guys in the first place. Usually you have to wait for them to shoot you. Sorry that I didn't make this clear.

You are cool. I'm just trying to make sense out of this.

It's nice of Sony to make us all better gamers now so that we're prepared for the challenges ahead. I guess Battlefield 4 on the PS4 is an early one for "advanced players".

I don't see how anyone could argue that worse resolution is better or fine in this day and age. It's been 8 years since the 360 launched so this shit just aint acceptable.
