Forums - Gaming - Polygon COD: Ghosts Review update: (XBONE better version)

ign already said ps4 version is the best and show a noticeable differences in the comparison video so this review has no credibility especially knowing how much money they received from Microsoft, no wonder the embargo was delay with the rest of the versions.

IGN said the framerate is the same in the comparision video lol

And the graphics are so different in quality.

It seems the differences are so small as to be hardly discerned. Any fan can then adopt the opinion of his favourite reviewer and believe he's playing the better version.

another xbox one review: http://www.hardcoregamer.com/2013/11/12/review-call-of-duty-ghosts-xbox-one/61727/

Another review that has difficulties to tell both versions apart...

He will play the PS4 version later... he didn't played enough it to compare both lol.

I need to ask... did you read the review?

Yes and do you understand the meaning of "difficulties"?

Ok, I you do you a favor:

While this is disappointing at first glance, make no mistake: Ghosts looks beautiful on Xbox One. I’ve played the game for around forty hours on the console and rarely had a problem with slowdown, never had freezing issues and the Xbox One simply handled it like a champ. I’ll need more time with the PS4 version to make a definitive statement on which plays better, but regardless of who ultimately gets the edge, it’s completely unfair to malign the Xbox One version for not measuring up to the PS4. The game simply looks and feels right on the Xbox One, no thanks in part to its controller which proves superior playing the game. - See more at: http://www.hardcoregamer.com/2013/11/12/review-call-of-duty-ghosts-xbox-one/61727/#sthash.1rfY1TvB.dpuf

Polygon.

Naaa I'll wait for Digital Foundry final veredict.

Of course you will; they will certainly say that 1080p with framerate issue is better than 720p and it will fit your agenda! On the bright side; if you take a still frame at 1080p and compare it to 720p; it will (I hope) effectively be better on the PS4 and it looks like this is what matter to the graphic whores out there instead of the actual gameplay...

Looking at the responses in the thread (from a lot of well known very objective users); it looks like any website/source praising the Xbox One has no credibility on this forums lately; I wonder if it has anything to do with the majority of the users being Sony fans

Like BF4 with and the PS4 blurryness; I'm glad the COD version is also superior on Xbox One as it is the console I'll use to play it in 10 days.

Polygon doesn't have a very good reputation whichever way you look at it. Gies is a fool and Dent isn't much better. Gies is the guy that kept stating there was a secret sauce in the XboxOne and when he lost a bet for $10 failed to pay up. No offence, you lose a bet you pay up, not disappear into the ether. He is also the guy that apparently passed Sony NDA information to Microsoft.

Anyway, why wouldnt people want to wait for the Digital foundary? Seriously, polygon said.. "in my eyes i dont see a difference from what I can recall"... some are saying, on bigger screens, yes it matters..some are saying there are PS4 performance issues, while others have said very little or none (IGN for example).

Why wouldnt people want to see exactly what level of performance issues and when it happens. That sounds like a sensible plan to me. If the FPS drops for 1 second at a save point, is the *FPS drop* a real issue, if it drops while shooting at 30FPS... thats a problem.

So my dear chap, people saying random stuff online and having differing opinions is not as good or effect as real evidence. Surely you agree that "Real" recorded evidence is better than lots of different people giving their own opinions.

Also I hate to burst your bubble, but most also say BF4 is better on PS4, both from quality and FPS... so you cant have it both ways :)

It's true actually. If you convince me I'm playing the better version, then I'll have no more need to go and check the other one side by side. I believe this is the logic behind the "the game looks great, just enjoy it",comments

Your quote proved my point... thanks... he will play the PS4 to say which is better.

@ethomaz.

sorry but even IGN video review says that the PS4 has occasionall

framerate dips but he didn't repeat it at the end of the video review.

When comparing the PS4 and Xbox One versions side-by-side, there’s little to no variation in textures and effects, but there is a discernible difference in resolution. While both are displayed at 1080p, the Xbox One version upscales the game from 720p resolution. In contrast, the PS4 version runs natively at 1080p, which makes character models, weapons, and environments look noticeably sharper and more detailed. The difference is especially apparent on larger-sized TVs, where pixel density weighs more heavily in picture quality.

Translation: You have to play it very close to a big TV and pay attention to the details.
