Hint for 48: Through a ghost pirate's caverns, down a mine shaft of fire below the frozen ground, up a fragmenting clock tower: jump your way to the treasure waiting at the end. Oh, and maybe stop a dragon from terrorizing the land while you're at it.

Primarily an RPG player but have interest in any game that will make me think.

Hint for #47: This game was far ahead of its time when it first released, featuring monster collecting well before Pokemon, and pregnancy before Harvest Moon. If I were able to play it back when I first was getting into its genre, it probably would've ended up much higher on my list. However, this masterpiece wasn't released internationally until 2009.

My Hint for 48

At the end of this game, you confront the man who killed your father, and nearly come to the same fate as him. You live because a ghost saves you.

Huh. This makes me think of Fire Emblem: Awakening's ending, with the Avatar confronting Grima, who had killed Validar in his timeline, and intends to kill the Avatar, until Basillo saves the Avatar. Yet Basillo was presumed dead.

Huh. That makes me think of Star Fox 64's ending, with Fox McCloud confronting a giant, evil space monkey face, who had killed his father James, and intends to kill Fox and rule the galaxy, until Fox kills him and James' ghost appears to guide Fox out of the exploding building and  saves him.

You're probably right.

Damn. I haven't played through that game in ages. It fell off my list, too. :(

Dragon Quest V.

I finally beat that pesky game that was holding up my list!

Here's my clue for #50:

Valentine's day at sea?

#48: Rock Band (PS3)

When it comes to party games, it's hard to beat rythm games. I jumped in the craze big time. I bought Guitar Hero  I and II, two guitars, I even bought the dreadful Guitar Hero: 80s. The last game I bought in this genre was Rock Band, not because I got tired of those game but because after buying Rock Band I didn't any new game. There was the addition of the drums and the microphone were a big improvement over Guitar Hero but the reason I stuck with Rock Band is because of the steady stream of DLC which allowed me to turn the already good playlist into an awesome playlist full of songs I truly love.

#47 Hint: This Rare game is less celebrated than their other achievements but for my taste it's a smashing good time!

48. Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
GameCube (2005)
Intelligent Systems

When it comes to my love for the Fire Emblem series, I actually owe it all to my now Call of Duty playin', NBA 2K13 lovin', brah-tastic brother. I only ever knew about Fire Emblem through its inclusion in Super Smash Bros., but other than that, I really had no interest in diving into the series. My brother, on the other hand, had already played and loved The Sacred Stones and hurredly picked up this title as soon as it came out. Now that it was on the big screen, I could see what this Fire Emblem series was all about. The moment he stopped playing, I selected my own save file and was immediately thrown into a fanstical medieval fantasty world, full of amazing characters, an engaging story, and mysteries abound. Fire Emblem goes above and beyond making this game more than just (tough as nails) strategy gameplay, but through it's amazing cast and epic tale, it really makes you care about the units you're controlling. And with the game's permanent death gameplay quirk, the GameCube's reset button was used many times during those playthroughs. No man (or woman) was left behind, and I came out of that war with a new franchise to love.
