Devil May Cry (Capcom/2001) Guessed by S.Peelman

Hack and slash games don't get much better, more atmospheric, or more stylish than Devil May Cry. The fighting mechanics are top-notch; the presentation is excellent; and the action lightning-fast. This is a rare game that looks (and feels) as gorgeous as it plays. For arcade action bliss, look no further than Devil May Cry.

Halo: Combat Evolved?

Today's not over yet, I haven't missed it!

28. Zelda: Skyward Sword (last year 19), first impression 9, replay 7.5, technical 8

Pros: More focus on combat finally returns to Zelda, and 3D dungeon design hits its peak of cleverness. The characters were all very well-written, and the "narrative" (as distinct from the ludonarrative) is very fitting as a series origin story. Some truly amazing bosses (namely Koloktos). The motion controls.

Cons: The "ludonarrative", that is the stuff that you had to do to "follow" the story, namely the padding. Empty sky. Breakable shields. Imprisoned fights.

27 started in a Corner and ended with poison.

31. Hated for its onfoot sections but I liked the multiplayer

Short but was closer to the series than the previous entry

30. Cool different collectalathon though it isn't his year anymore

28. Ready to gamble after the apocalypse .

There's also a bunch of radiated stuff you have to kill

Nope, the characters that shouldn't be there are supposed to be dead in the official storyline but are selectable in this game.

I like Crush 40's cheesy rock music, even in most of the later 3D entries that don't have much going for them besides the soundtrack.
