28. Zelda: Skyward Sword (last year 19), first impression 9, replay 7.5, technical 8

Pros: More focus on combat finally returns to Zelda, and 3D dungeon design hits its peak of cleverness. The characters were all very well-written, and the "narrative" (as distinct from the ludonarrative) is very fitting as a series origin story. Some truly amazing bosses (namely Koloktos). The motion controls.

Cons: The "ludonarrative", that is the stuff that you had to do to "follow" the story, namely the padding. Empty sky. Breakable shields. Imprisoned fights.
