We are only a few days from the PS4's launch and I am sure that most people have made their decision on which console they plan to buy.

I am more curious to see if you ever really changed your mind from one console to another.  I always see joke comments from people saying they cancelled their preorder because some new announcment or 180.  I know that shortly after both consoles were announced, I made my decision to go XB1.  I had a number of contributing factors to decision.  I wanted one ecosystem for my phone, game system, computer.  I had been using Itunes for a lot of things and I am sick of the stagnation in apple products.  I knew when it came to game systems, there wasn't much of a choice if I wanted integrated products top to bottom. 

So, my question is really simple. 

Have you really changed from the console that you thought you were going to get in January of 2013?

Since January, we have had both consoles announced with their various features.  We have had policy changes(180's), spec changes, secret sauce, no secret sauce, great looking games in 1080p glory, great looking games that don't seem to hit 1080p, and a few other things that happened.

Have you changed your mind and what were the real reasons?

Yes I was planning to get a PS4. Then they announced the price here in Argentina. 6500 AR$ which is about 1130 US$.

I was pissed and went with my second option. A Wii U! And I have no plans to get a PS4 in the future. Maybe when the generation ends and it's affordable.

No. I will get a PS4 and a Wii U, similarly to how I did this gen with my PS3 and Wii. Can't see a reason to get an XO, at least not until it drops in price to 100 Euro so that I can catch up with the handful of exclusives (just like I'm doing with the X360). Both MS consoles are just the worst offers on the market by a mile.

You could say that. Before the consoles were unveiled I was planning to get the PS4. Now I think I may buy 2 PS4s, they are that good.

A guy in our office has flip flopped multiple times in the last 3 months, its been quite fun to watch, he last flipped to XO when Drive club and watch dogs were cancelled, but he recently flipped back to PS4 after 720pGate.

We all make jokes that he will change his mind a few more times before launch, but today he cancelled his XO, so i guess that's final.

I have had just about every console that has been released here in the US and usually at or close to launch. I plan to buy the XB1, but I am going to wait til at least April or may next year if not later. I might get a PS4, but I will really have to see something special on it for me to do so.

The best thing is each of the 5 or so times he changed his mind, it was "DEFINATLEY not gonna change my mind again"

He sounds like the type of person that will buy both at some point, he is really attached to either.  He must be using either a Galaxy or Iphone or both.

Sticking with my plan: play on 3DS, Vita, and Wii U until the PS4 and X1 drop to $300 and build up a healthy library of exclusive games.

Games like Banjo-Threeie and The Last Guardian might change my mind, though :P
