"My way or the highway" should not be the argument here.

And it isn't "kind of like paying for a game that has XBL features"

Paying for a game that has xbl features only requires 2 purchases: 1.game 2.xbl

This is paying for a game that has xbl features that is roped off into another paywall. 3 purchases. 1.game 2.xbl 3.fitness

Secondly, my other question was asking what should a developer do who wants to make a fitness game? Does their game just appear on xbfitness or what?

Choice A:  Buy Some of these apps to have the XBL Feautures.  It is pretty much what Makes XBox Fitness and not just Insanity etc

Choice B: Buy the DVD's and dont use XBL/(Which you ignored in the first comment)

Either one works on XBO.  As I said before, XB Fitness revolves around XBL(And of course Kinect).  If not then they are just the same workouts you can buy at this very moment.

Addressing choice A: Why does it also have to be behind the xbox fitness paywall then? I just said that being behind the xbl paywall makes sense. I agreed with you. What I disagree with is being being ANOTHER paywall. Your posts don't seem to be taking that into account. Do you not know there is a subscription fee for fitness?

Addressing choice B (and your parenthetical statement): Again "my way or the highway" has not worked, will not work, and shouldn't be employed with anything related to MS and the xb1. That mindset has been disasterous for them these past 6 months.

A: I do know theyre is a subscription fee.  Much like going to the gym.  These programs are more expensive if you purchase them on DVD's.  I guess we should complain about purchasing Wii Fitness as well since it isnt free.

B:  Not even sure what youre trying to say other than you dont like MSFT and theyve made mistakes. Ive lost interest at this point.

DOnt reply, it is obvious you dont like this which is fine.  We arent going to agree and you arent making a strong debate either.  Im sure you think the same about mine so just move on as we arent going to agree.

Things cost money, it is how the world works.

Just saw this over on the Microsoft fitness webpage.

"*Xbox Fitness coming Holiday 2013. Starting January 2015, unlimited access requires a paid Xbox Fitness Pass subscription and an Xbox Live Gold membership (both sold separately). Additional Xbox Fitness content is available for purchase, and may vary over time. See xbox.com/xboxfitness."

So basically I subscribe to xbox live, then subscribe to xbox fitness and have to buy the different "games" to play on xbox fitness. Interesting. All this time I thought xb fitness was an all encompassing feature, but it's just another paywall to play the games that I already paid for...and alienate all the developers who aren't giving microsoft their cut.

Did you watch the IGN video?  The amount of content that's available to people is HUGE!

My guess is that a subscription will bring you one exercise series, and if you want more you can purchase additional series.

And considering how much some of these video series go for, I can understand why there is a charge for the content.

Trust me adinnie, I think it's a great concept. What my jimmies are rustled for is why it's behind a paywall. It was actually while watching the video that made me wonder about the additional content. That prompted me to look at the website, and sure enough, you have to buy each individual workout.

I mean, sure that makes sense. But why should it be behind another paywall? That is what doesn't make sense.

I think, it should be more like:

60$ a year, get xb fitness and all the content in it.
OR
60$ a game, and own it.

Most likely you are only going to buy one or two games through option B. Option A allows for many years of 60$ charges. Option A is better business both from a consumer standpoint and a corporate. Combining both options is only charging consumers without reason.

A. Going to the gym is two costs: subscription fee, and possibly personal trainer fee. Again, this is three fees. This would be like subscription to the gym, then a subscription to the class, then a fee to talk to the teacher of the class. Wii Fit only cost the retail price. Your comparisons are not only asinine, but it's insulting that you should debase my argument when you can't even make a proper metaphor over the course of 4 replies. It's 3 costs. Not 2. The gym is one, two if you want more. Not three. Wii fit is one.

B. You have no interest in anything remotely negative about MS. Good day. Though I'm sure you already lost interest in reading this post the moment I slammed your befuddled argument into the dirt in the first sentence above.

I choose option c: Torrents.

This has been known to xbox fans from the start. Why do you expect it for free? Are XBLA games for free? Are games on demand like GTAV free? No

You're paying for multiplayer and apps. This isn't an App so much as it is on par with a full game.

You don't need two subscriptions for xbla games. Why is xbfitness a subscription if you're A) already paying for live B) already paying for the fitness content.

This is not what we're used to with 360.

Anything remotely negative?  I have problems with people who spout negativity that wasnt interested in products in the first place, not the negativity.  I have plenty of things to say negative about MSFT as well as the other two manufacturers.

From day one you are one of the people who has made it obvious you dont care for XBO or MSFT so you making a thread about something MSFT and negativity is not shocking at all.

A subscription within a subscription which still requires you to purchase content to even use said subscription .............. yet people keep falling for it. THAT is the real tragedy here. :/

Because it has a multiplayer aspect to it.  There are social challenges that you can have between friends.  So if you and a friend are using the same workout routine, s/he may see that you've complete an exercise with 5 Stars, thus pushing him to match your efforts.

This has been known since late September, the app will be behind a paywall and will need a seperate sub fee after next year. That's why I always laugh when people brings this app up as a selling point for xbox. If your hardcore into fitness your not paying 500 dollars for Xbone, 60 dollars for Gold and then a seperate fee for this app, people will buy the P90X dvd's etc.

Because Xbox Fitness is NOT part of your Gold subscription and again, why should it be?? It's the equivilent of a game. That has DLC, like ... oh other games on the system. Where is it coming from that you think we're entitled to this content for free? And why is it so much worse that something is subscription rather than outright payment? You lose all validity to your argument right there. You're complaining for the sake of it.
