Well, 1,000's of people per night don't think so,who play online and its even more on the weekends! Madden 08 is addictive because my friend only plays this game online and he has beaten the #1 player in the world.Don't forget about Madden Nation,its a $100,000 annual event on Espn the winner takes all! Ever since Madden 06, the game has just gotten more and more complicated. I don't like it anymore.

I've had Madden 05, 06, 07 (PS2), 07 (PS3). Up until 06 it was good, and the PS2 version of 07 was good. 08 was too complicated.

I like it when it was simple controls, nothing fancy, just a solid NFL game.

They should lower it to like $40/game since its no different than the previous years game.

I want another NFL blitz 2001, but with updated rosters. Damn you EA for not allowing my completely unrealistic dream to exist!

well I guess this means that I am going to have to go out and buy an EA sports game after all. Haven't bought an EA game since the Saturn and switched to the 2K games when I bought my Dreamcast. Due to EA control of the License from the NFL the newest NFL sports game I have is NFL2K5

I was pretty miffed when I read about this, but it's not a great shock. I've played Madden off and on since the early 90's, so it's not like I don't enjoy the games(besides bugs, and things like the broken online functions on the Wii version).

I still think having competition is important for Madden. 2K5 trumped Madden 05 in my opinion, so it was sad to see it come to an end right after that.

I think these exclusive deals for sports is a load of crap. I don't see why anyone like the NFL or MLB would want to change the way their sports were made into games, at least not like this. You're putting all of your eggs in one basket by doing this. And it will never help the game carrying your name get better.

I don't think anyone likes that this is happening, we're just accepting that this is how things are. It just took these sports a while to realize that all of these other intellectual properties all have one publisher that pays them for the rights. Don't be surprised if someone scoops up Basketball, Soccer or Hockey next.

For anyone to say that the Madden Nfl series is still the same as the other installments must not even play the game,or haven't in the last few years.A lot has changed every year since 2000 if some didnt know it. They added vision control for the qb,offensive and defensive playmaker controls,hit stick 2.0,defense AI is better,added lead blocking controls,you use the right joystick to kick field goals,punts,and kick offs- This year they have added the read and react system in which certain smart qbs can read your defensive play before the ball is hiked and certain smart cbs can read the offensive play before the ball is snapped. Also,there is an all new front office mode,the ring builder,you can use legends in franchise mode,player weapon icons are used for certain players,have receiver spotlight feature so your defense can key on a certain receiver,while online you play for a trophy,gamecast feature included,etc.-ps3 and 360 versions has all these features and maybe the pc. The ps2 and xbox has only some.
