Don't lie, you've heard of MapleStory. The immensely popular 2D MMO took up many hours during its heyday, and it's still got quite the fanbase today. Now, Nexon has officially announced a sequel.

Developed by N Square, MapleStory 2 brings the series into 3D with a brand new artstyle. Taking place in a time period before the original game, players can expect to explore a world that feels familiar, but has its own unique style and tone. In addition to the new visuals, the sequel will take advantage of a new gameplay system.

Nexon has also unveiled plans for a beta sometime next year. Though the publisher hasn't gone into specifics, it has opened up the official site which will host new information as it comes.

Color me interested, tbh I gotta get into an MMORPG, maybe this is it.

Man i spent so much time in the Maple cea servers really fun game. Great monster design too and the class system was very simple and very easy to get into.

I was a giant maple nerd way back during my high school days. I haven't gone back for more than days at a time ever since but this is pretty interesting. I will surely give it a go, for old time sakes.

Big Bang ruined the game. Made a kiddy game into a toddler game. I used to spend hours on end, falling asleep on the computer leveling and making friends. It was a long grinding game and you felt that death had consequences. Now it feels like a solo player game and you can just ignore everyone else.

I hope the sequel feels more like the original maple.

hey! is this game multiplayer only?

I use to play MapleStory quite a bit back when i was in high school. I might have to check it out to see how the game changes in the transition to a 3D environment.
