Forums - Microsoft - Ryse: Son Of Rome Is As Fun As Dialing Phone Numbers

See this is what bugs me about console wars on forums. You get too many threads like this where a group of people who had no interest in a product to begin with, post someone's particular negative opinion/experience, and use it to gloat and poke sticks at those who actually are interested.

Ya, journalists have made it clear that they are divided on this game. You posted two very negative pieces here. I could post two very positive ones as a response if I cared to.

As it stands, I personally couldn't care less for the journalist opinions. I play what interests me, regardless of whether it has a 7 or 10 from reviewers. That doesn't add to my enjoyment. For example, I thought Remember Me was a fantastic game, even though it got very mediocre scores from critics. Ryse could very well turn out to be a similar affair, and you know what....I'm totally cool with that.

This forum appears to be full of that in both directions, with some repeat offenders who can't seem to help themselves.  I swear, you'd think some of you were on Microsoft or Sony's payroll.

I think much of it stems from not being able to afford all the consoles.  My take is, if you cannot afford to drop a grand on consoles, then maybe you need to spend less time playing video games.

like expected, e3 was too late to change for what the game got criticized. they should have delayed it to march or so...

I often wonder which is more effective.  An average rushed launch game or a delayed improved launch window title.

Shows in stuff like Driveclub vs. (apparently) this.

I suspect getting a game out for launch is more important.  Include it in enough of the marketing and people won't really care how it's received.

Yet right there in the OP there is a criticism of the game where he describes slicing and dicing through enemy after enemy.

What are you even arguing about? Ryse is an action game where you kill a bunch of people. You're confused.

Uh.. that is exactly what every gameplay video I have seen shows.

I don't what you saw but I played it and it is nowhere close to what you described.

I bout pissed my pants, good one.

Don't let my thread get buried in bullshit guys, peep it http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=171555&page=1#2

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

For some people, Bayoneta was one of the best rack and slash, with the most advanced combat mechanics of this generation... Or you could play it with one hand.

You can play Arkhan games pressing only Y during combats.

Well, the moral is "If you are not interested in high combat scores and executions, those are not games for you".

Errr!... with this logic you could play any game with one hand... will you get anywhere?.. No.. but nice try

Ryse sounded like shit... and that shit is confirmed

I just watched that...

Ιs slicing and dicing an enemy all that is required to describe a game? The fact that this feature is by some means in two different games, makes them equal? Or does it make them similar?

i.e. I drive a car and GTA, I also drive a car in NFS. They're both driving games?

This, I stole from grandpa...It's called soap.

Don't fall while making that reach.

Neither of these is true.

Reminds me of those "just mash X / A" comments about Final Fantasy XIII.

Good luck!
