Forums - Gaming - Early Gen vs Late Gen and Optimizations(Why launch games will not look the best)

True, true agreed. I find it quite amazing how much little optimization can have a exponential increase in quality.

Also, looking forward to seeing some more exclusives. Most of what people are talking about it multi plats which usually never look as good. But I know, they are the only thing we can do direct comparisons.

What's going on with the Solid Snake title? It looked soooooooooo good at E3.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

Umm why post this, we all know it is obvious, both systems will improve.................

Because we have had about 5 threads in the last week and half reach well over 200 comments based off resolution and now frame rate.  A lot of people are acting as if these games determines the entire generation.

So no i would not say ALL KNOW

Yup. Even end of gen games on wii u will blow our minds.

Last gen, hardware was unique and required a different approach to programming to fully utilize, such as the PS3 CELL processor, and the 360's IBM processor, along with limited RAM that required extensive optimization to make games run at all.
This gen, 2 of the consoles will be X86 based, so developers already have extensive knowledge of how to program for it. The differences over time won't be as dramatic, aside from the Wii U; Its IBM cpu and edram makes it different to program for, meaning games will look better over time and improve. The other consoles will remain relatively the same.

And that's just flat out wrong. This gen should have the largest difference between launch and end of gen.

What makes you think that Joe?

Cloud.

lol the cloud will be a joke with people for a long time xD

Honestly I do expect it to play some kind of role this gen though.  Prob not near as big of a role as MSFT tries to make it appear, but i expect it to progress a little bit

I don't see how. If the hardware is already being almost fully utulized, then the differenes between this year and in 7 years won't be as mindblowing as like resistance 1 and uncharted 1 to killzone 3 and the last of us.

I <3 Classic Platformers!

Multi-console Owner FTW

Proof?? Ttoally disagree. Os, drivers, dev kits are still being refined newer techniques will be applied, new engines.........
