Look through my post history (Add me as a friend to do this) and you can see i have said that multiple times that hardcore gamers that visit forums are in the minority. When people are making generalizations on fan bases they are not talking about 100% of people who bought said console or 100% of fans on forums even. They are primarily talking about the most hardcore fans aka fanboys. And yes I do agree that Sony loyalists outweigh Nintendo and Xboxers by a pretty decent margin. However a fanboy on any side is annoying which is something else you will hear me say a lot.
My theory does not go along with the OP though. Mine actually is that Sony's hardcore fans were use to dominating with PSone and PS2, however when PS3 came out they suddenly had to defend the PS3 throughout the first half of the generation. I think that mind set just stayed with a lot of fans. Plus the petty console wars in general doesnt really help. Honestly i think if XBO suddenly blew up i think they would be similar to Sony fans because they are use to defending the Xbox brand, similar to the PS3 years ago.
As for your other comment, i wasnt being overly sensitive. There is just no need to call anyone "Mr Anal". It is more about respect than being sensitive.
damn i didnt read the wii lollipop quote.
To the guy you have to be arrogant, Nintendo isnt arrogant.
anyway i still think Sony is better than Microsoft!!!

The number of perceived fanboys is relative to the viewers preference, a nintendo fan will see far less fanboys of nintendo consoles than others, likewise for microsoft and sony fanboys, the only difference being that due to the current state of general favor, fanboys for sony are more vocal - that doesnt mean that there are more sony fanboys than microsoft or nintendo, it simply means the conditions as such that fewer fanboys from nintendo and microsoft consoles are prepared to speak up - if the table was turned and the wiiu was the favored console, you can be sure it would be nintendo fans being the loudest, likewise if the xbox one was the favored console, its all relative.
As for being called anal, its an abbreviated form of anal rententive, "used to describe a person who pays such attention to detail that the obsession becomes an annoyance to others" as such I countered your attention to detail with my own attention to detail (being anal rententive on the details myself), to underline how annouying it can be, i delibrately used that term in the hopes you would understand that point, but apparently not.
Heres hoping my explaining it clarifies things, sure you were making a point, but it wasnt a point that ultimately needed to be made, and you were inaccurate in your response to him, making the point even more moot.
I saw the start of this thread last night when there was no message in the opening post. Now I can see the opening post I see it's full of just quotes from Playstation divisions 'dark age'. A sea of arrogance and pride and trying to stay afloat with their expensive raft when everyone else was on an cheap air mattress and doing better.
But that time has gone, the borrowed game sketch was just funny because of how MS handled it themselves. Most companies will talk up their product and if it's doing bad, talk it up some more still even if it appears as arrogance.
Of course this one:
"Microsoft does not concern us. Microsoft is not a technology company."(Nobuyuki Idei, Sony chief corporate adviser, 2007)"
Has nothing to do with arrogance, it's just true. MS are a software company. Sony are a hardware company, everyone knows this. I've said before, Sony with their deals and partnerships in the industry could probably always build a better console because of this. MS has a software relationship not hardware. The best console ever made probably would be a Sony hardware console, with MS OS and Nintendo made games.
Hmm, pie.
he is definetly right with nintendo making the best games!!! Microsoft stay with software!!!

Nah i understood what it meant but I still view it as disrespectful. I dont know if I was nessearily wrong or right either. You listed a bunch of stuff that isnt necessarily in PS Family but really i dont want to get into all that.
As for your hypothisis I will have to disagree. It is pretty common for Sony fans to be listed as the worst. I see that as too much of a common theme to think other wise. Though I dont expect you to agree with me on it either., so im not going to try and explain my side any further as we will just be in disagreement any ways.
As for the OP, i already told you why i disagree with it.

this.
this thread seems extremely pointless, and like it belongs in 2008, when Sony was not doing to well with the ps3 and were defensive about it. seeing as all the quotes are from like 2005-2008.
i feel like im in a time warp. is it 2008 again. And a fail to see how believing Company A is doing this superior to Company B, makes me arogant. Not all companies are equal, which is what this thread seems to get its premise from, since it calls people arogant for thing a company is better than another (in this case sony).
it just seems like jaywood is upset again that Sony seems to be on the right track right now, and has numerous advantages over the xbox one currently, and the consumer base is noticing. And he conceals his displeasure with the playstation under the guise of faux non-bias, which he always claims to be.
