I wonder if we'll at least get the last week of March before Splatoon comes out, it might take months before knowing what its global first week actually is :O

Hey, so who`s going to be in round 2 of the test run? It`s at a good time for me to play. : ) Anyone else?

Heck yeah, I'm super hyped for Splatoon to come out!

I'll take any opportunities I can get to play this game!

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Depends if I feel like going to this big Yugioh tournament. I'll probably bail on it due to the amount of time money and effort it takes for only marginal pay off tbh, so yeah I'll probably play. :L

As of right now, I should be able to. But it will sadly just make me even more desperate for the game and watch even more youtube videos on it while I wait for it to release.

That`s understandable. After playing the first test run, I just wanted more. Though this time, we`d have less than a week to wait for the game`s release : )

You could have used "dormant" to describe it.

In any case, I also agree with you two with Metroid. Besides, 2016 will mark the 30º anniversary of Metroid so it makes perfect sense to launch a game in 2016... even if Nintendo already screwed the 25º one.

Much better word!

And yep. 2016 is the perfect release date for a new game and I'd imagine they'd want to reveal it at least a year before launch, and what better time than E3 to do that? It wouldn't even have to be gameplay, really. Just show closeups of Samus' armor in HD graphics, and a wide shot of an alien landscape and a title; everyone would go nuts.

Here's why I suspect we won't get a full blown HD Metroid on Wii U: money. That kind of game would be expensive to produce, and probably wouldn't recoup it's costs on Wii U's small install base. I can't see Nintendo investing that much in a console that looks like it will sell around 15m lifetime.

Hey I made a rant about a gorilla.

Its a thread actually and you can post on it.

I mean you don't have to do it, but I'm giving you the option.

That's why they would port it to their next home console with touched up visuals, to recoup the cost. They can't just not give their console worthwhile exclusives, because then the Wii U will literally stop selling altogether and while it's selling slow now, it's better than nothing and it can do better with high quality software (i.e. Metroid, Zelda, Animal Crossing, SMT x FE, Xeno X).

I think if Nintendo had really given up on big projects for the U, they would've cancelled SMT x FE altogether, they wouldn't be taking a risk with new IPs (Splatoon) or older franchises (Star Fox) and they certainly wouldn't have delayed Zelda to spend even more money on it and make it a better game overall.

Personally, I expect that Zelda U will now be cross-platform with NX, like Twilight Princess.

Some of their projects are likely too far along to be pulled now, like SMTxFE, but I reckon their new Wii U games from now on will be modestly sized stuff like Captain Toad, Splatoon, Kirby & the Rainbow Curse, or Yoshi's Woolly World. Nothing big and expensive.

I don't see that happening. Although I can see them porting it sometime down the line, I don't think they'll outright launch it alongside the Wii U version (or even within a year).

I agree that most of their projects from now on will be budget titles, but I really don't think they'll be ignoring some of their IPs for this reason. While Animal Crossing, Punch Out and Endless Ocean wouldn't require too much to produce, I can still see them investing more in bigger projects like Metroid, Paper Mario or Kid Icarus to appease their fans and establish faith between the consumer and the company.
