Just noticed that Splatoon entered the Amazon US Top 100 at #81. Good sign for a game a month out from release.

They sure as hell did a shit job with Wonderful 101 and Codename STEAM. They haven't push something this hard since probably the Wii days. Glad to see it too. I hope the up coming direct can help clear some of these issues that people(and me) have.

They pretty much sent those games out to die. It's a shame too, because I think Wonderful 101 could've ended up being a mid-tier franchise for Nintendo (along the lines of Pikmin or Kirby) if they marketed it correctly. Codename STEAM is a bit more niche, but it should've done way better than it did. But hey, at least they're actually making new IPs, you know?

I think Splatoon is perhaps the most ambitious (new) game they've made since Wii Sports. Well, maybe XC could take that title. Either way, it's really fresh and exciting. It really helps that they're giving it a bundle and an amiibo line too, and they plan on supporting it after launch. But yeah, I hope the Direct clears up the whole private matches thing.

It really frustrates me how little Nintendo marketed W101! The game was amazing and was a master piece. They clearly didn't cheap out on it. Until it came to marketing

Honestly, I feel like no amount of marketing could have made Wonderful 101 a hit. It was a game without any mainstream appeal; too saccharine for the dudebros, too intimidating to the casuals. Throw in mixed reviews and it was pretty much a lost cause commercially.

Guys do you think Call of duty BOIII for wiiu will be announced this Sunday? I have the feeling that is coming, that leak says something like "the beta will be avalible only on ps4, xbo and pc", that makes me think that the game will be released on more systems without the beta. It would be great news if its true.

I'm not getting my hopes up, since we missed Advanced Warfare.

I know but  I think Wii also missed some CoDs, but others were released anyways. Maybe Black ops will stay on WiiU, I hope so.

It's possible; Treyarch are making this one, and they have (or at least used to have) a dedicated Wii/Wii U team who ported all the COD games that came to those systems. The question is whether this team was disbanded after Ghosts.

All you say makes me sad, since its currently the best game on the Wii U. But yeah, it was a bit to niche to sell great. but to not even try is plain foolish. Gotta give a game chance. Especially the amount of money they put into making the game.

They definitely could have done a better job. I just don't think it was  ever going to cross the million mark no matter what they did. (On any system)

Wonderfull 101 actually had a special Nintendo Direct just for the game. Nintendo did something, but Wonderfull 101 is the kind of game that would struggle to reach the million even on PS3. When it was released there was 5 milions of WiiU sold? I think less. And still the game is around 250 - 300k. Those sells are normal for a game like this on a console with Dreamcast level of sales, very niche, it looks very casual but it plays very hardcore, and the mixed reviews didnt help, is very hard to sell. But I agree, that game is wonderfull (ba dum tss)

Is it all right if I put you on sign ups?

I can put an asterisk to mark the fact that you might not be able to come.

Sure, you can do that.

I highly doubt BO 3 will come to Wii U after AW's absence and lackluster sales for the other 2 CoD games.
But you neber know... this could be the famous Tantalus port!
