Goodnightmoon said: I hate the amount of Nintendo fans shitting at the SMT X FE. "Is not fire emblem" and what? We have 1 amazing Fire Emblem on 3DS and there´s a new one that looks even better coming next year. "It´s so weeebo" Of course, because Fire emblem is not very japanese, no, is french. And Shin Megami Tensei? Nothing japanese either, except EVERYTHING Nintendo fans can be amazinly closed-minded sometimes, the game looks like Persona, is as japanese as any Persona, AND EVERYBODY LOOSE THEIR SHIT FOR PERSONA 5. So why not with this game? The story is plenty of possibilities here, the graphics are great, the style looks great, the song is great, the combat doesn´t look bad at all. A Persona-like game for WiiU is brilliant for me. Is the only game that I really want on Ps4 (ok, bloodborne too), but now we have something that could be as good as that game. There´s no many modern life japanese games on WiiU. THERE´S NO SINGLE ONE. This is very good for the console variety and to open the audience for some non-nintendo fans. And It will sell like little hotcakes on Japan.

This. Sometimes Nintendo fans are so closed-minded... Shibata said that Atlus is developing the game, Nintendo contributes with the Fire Emblem characters and, I think, supervision. This can be seen as an spin-off to the main saga, with different gameplay and different setting. Atlus has proved that it's one of the best (if not the best) JRPG developers (SMT, Persona, both are amazing sagas). So, why another "pure" Fire Emblem when we can use their talent to do something new and fresh to the console (it's not like WiiU has a lot of JRPGs...) using characters we, Nintendo fans, love? We will have another Fire Emblem next year, so, we will have our TRPG ration. It's not like they are betraying Fire Emblem fans...
I think that Nintendo is following the right strategy. Hyrule Warriors, Pokkén Tournament, SMTxFE, are perfect examples of Nintendo lending its main IPs to other developers in order to do something new. While Nintendo works in the main saga, other developers are doing spin-offs, introducing new ways to play. But, there's always people asking for the same things over and over again...
