just to let you guys know 

I called my local store about a half hour ago. The kid answered the phone, "Thank you for calling Gamestop where we are taking pre-orders for the Xbox One". He told me $100 deposit would get me a pre-order for the second wave of boxes. I asked when the second wave is supposed to be in and he wasn't sure but thought it would be shortly after release and definitely before X-Mas. Wife is heading up in a few minutes to get it done, I've waited long enough.

Day one edition?

If you're asking me, I didn't ask him and don't remember him specifying.

My friend called. He transferred his PS4 pre-order to an Xbox One pre-order. He said that they will not be Day One consoles. They will be standard consoles, but be available day one. He'll have his at the mid-night launch.

The girl my wife dealt with at the store told her that they are expecting the "2nd wave" to be available on the 22nd but they can't tell people that as fact at this point. Either way, we've decided it's going to be a X-Mas present so I won't be playing until then :(

shit I know the feeling... that's why for big exciting expense I use my own money on my own account usually lol :P ... nice present though.... but just knowing it's right there and seeing everybody comment on how much fun they have is just more than I can take usually lol...

Well it's for the kids. I was going to get one for myself with my own money but that would steal the thunder of the gift. I'll eventually end up with three in the house but I'll probably wait until Titanfall comes out to get the second box (hopefully a limited edition), then probably a Limited Edition Halo 5. That's assuming they do the LEs this gen.
