Forums - Sony - Battlefield to run at 900p on Ps4

The irony. I said a few days ago that games weren't guaranteed to be 1080P forever on the Playstation 4. :P

The reason I don't care about all is 720/900p resolution nonsense is receiving is because they are launch games. It's understandable.

Next year however, that would be newsworthy.

Exactly.

New hardware and the fact that they are making games for multiple platforms.

PC - 1
Next gen - 0

BF is on all consoles I don't see the big deal how PC is kinda winner in the end we all playing the same game

but for this one is different:

Killzone SF only on PS4 sooo

PC - 0

PS4 - 1

:P

Yeah but BF is a great game franchise =p.    Anyway when will the KZ  SF VS BF4 thread be up?

And that's why I'll be buying on PC instead. Full 1080p with max settings glory(hopefully)

Can't tell you, but I know what I got on my machine, and the result is higher than 60fps, on average, in 1080p. Of course, Crysis 3 has excellent CPU scaling, so that could help, but still, I got more than 60fps with one card.

Hell I have a GTX 680 and I'm pretty sure with those settings I got 40-50fps.  I just turned down AA one or two notches and I hit 60fps easily.

How do people expect 1080p 60fps and ultra level graphics, when not even the best single GPU's on the market are capable of it with graphics at this level? BF4 looks at least as good as Crysis 3, and not even Titan or the R9 290 can run that anywhere near 60fps in 1080p.

The PS4 should have no issue with this game at 1080p with the highest settings and a locked 30fps. The XBO should be capable of the same at 720p. I think the the expectations of these next gen consoles it way out of line with reality. I just hope devs don't think every game has to be 60fps, because it is just not necessary in every game.

Um, Crysis 3 on a single Titan runs over 60fps in 1080p. Lest we forget that one of those is nearly the power of a GTX 690. I'm going to test just one of them with BF4 (which doesn't even have as demanding of PC requirements as Crysis 3). Guarantee that plays at over 60fps as well.

How come nearly every benchmark has 1080p max settings running at 45 - 50fps on a single Titan?

Remember that PC benchmarks use more expensive/effective AA and 16x AF, while I would expect consoles to settle for base MLAA or similar AA and modest AF.

If you used similar AA/settings on PC as PS4 with a titan, I would expect it to go way past 60FPS in 1080p.

wait what? so it looks worse than KZ and its at a lower frame rate?
im not too sure about this.

It actually makes perfect sense. Killzone is a first party title. Their first party studios lead on consoles last gen, I expect it now too.

last gen was different because of the cell.

This gen the PS4's is basically being called a PC by every single developer so theres no excuse this time.

Umm...Reviews are coming at 1080..

Take my love, take my land..

It wasn't "just because of the Cell" (quite a fallacy dreamt up by Sony fans). It was a combination of the talent of each studio, in addition to, the tech. With the PS4, the same will apply.

from what ive heard the DICE team are very talented.
