1. Uncharted 2.
This is the game that got me back into gaming, to be honest. I got my Xbox 360 in 2008 and it lasted until 2011, when it unfortunately gave out to RROD for the third time. But before it even gave out, I was, for the most part not gaming, it was collecting hella dust. Last christmas my girlfriend, now ex-girlfriend bought me a PS3, and she's not even a gamer so she simply google'd the best PS3 games and it directed her to Uncharted 2's metacritic page and she ended up buying it. At first I was a bit sketchy because I hadn't actually gamed in almost two years, but my god this game was brilliant. Once I started playing it, I simply couldn't put it down. The visuals were astonishing, the set-pieces, the story, the characters, honestly, in my opinion it's top 3 best games ever made, along with OOT and Mario 64. The ONLY complaint I have about this game is how it ruined so many other PS3 exclusives for me, after playing Uncharted 2 I expected every next gen game to match it's quality, STILL haven't found it.
2. The Last Of Us
Jesus christ there were parts in this game where I genuinely was so immersed that I felt as if I was actually in the game world. Everything about this game was real, I know that sounds silly for a game with zombies but hear me out. The voice acting is the best a game has ever seen, the facial animations makes you feel the characters emotions. It's a brilliant narrative that makes you feel like you're with Joel and Ellie. In all honesty the Last of Us shouldn't even be really qualified as a game, it was an experience. There were parts in this game where I genuinely felt for Ellie and Joel, times where I was scared of clickers killing them as if my life was in danger. The stealth, crafting, multiplayer. melee combat, and shooting mechanics all make this game a modern gem. Seriously guys, Naughty Dog is the best developer, hands down.
3, God of War 3
This game was so fucking epic. The combat never feels dull or boring, there's hella variety in it too. It can be very deep or simple depending on what you're trying to pull off. The graphics are stunning, and the boss battles are the best ever in video games. That Poseidon into was jaw-dropping. The final battle with Zeus was creative as fuck as well. The only complaint is that this game's ending leaves for something to be desired.
4. Assassin's Creed
The first Xbox 360 game I bought. First of all, the visuals were simply mindblowing to me for the time. The story was intriguing to say the least and the sandbox aspect of the game was puled off pretty damn well. The combat system was fluid, the game ran like a charm and there were so many things to do. And some of the assassinations in the game are simply badass and alot of the elements they introduced such as pick-pocketing and other simple shit were executed perfectly. I enjoyed this game more than 2 and 3 and revelations.
5. Mass Effect
Way better than the follow-ups. The story was better, the RPG elements were better and it was overall just more fun in my opinion. I liked taking control of the characters actions and seein the consequences, I'm not a fan of generic space sci fi but even I had to admit the game had a great story and elements such as planet traveling and building relationships with your crew. The only complaint I have is how forgettable boss battles were.
6, Grand Theft Auto V
The multiplayer is SO much fun when you're playing with friends. I recently bought a Xbox 360 just to play this with friends, and my god I have spent way too much time fucking around with them on there. The story mode is entertaining throughout and the graphics are superb for an open world game. The story itself makes your random acts of crime somewhat justifiyable as well, which is a first for the series. But honestly I would've enjoyed the game more with just one protagonist, but that's just me.
7. LittleBigPlanet
My ex-girlfriend used to hate when I played my PS3, unless I was playing this. She was never much a gamer in any sense but she LOVED playing this with me, especially the user created content levels online. It's just SO much fun when you're playing with friends and family, I had my little sister and mom wanting to bring my PS3 over JUST to play this game with me. Something about this game is magical.
8. Naruto: Rise Of A Ninja.
Best anime game ever created. Running around the open world environment, running on water, running up trees, leaping from building to building in Konoha was just a blast for a fan of the series like me. Also the missions were brilliant because you actually had to explore and platform to get where you're going, and you unlock features that can be used in the open world as you progress. Pulling off jutsu is a ton of fun in this game and require skill unlike in the Ninja Storm games. This game did SO many things right for an Anime game.
9. Wii Sports.
Gonna wrap this up quickly: Was simply mind-blowing the first time you played it and was so much fun with friends and family.
10. Yakuza 4.
Brilliant game, if it weren't for the frustrating map, somewhat lack of direction at times, and atroscious navigation and lack of other features that could be easily implemented this game would probably be top 5. The story is awesome, the characters are better, the mini-games are fun as hell, and the graphics are great for the most part. I'm willing to bet that if this game had MP, cars, and a different overhead view it'd be superior to GTA V in every way imo.
