Forums - Gaming - iN-FocuS: DirectX 11 Tessellation

I look forward to seeing more tessellation now the new consoles are out. For most games it's used sparingly if at all as the engines are still based on the current gen GPUs.

Seeing it in the PC versions of Crysis 2 & 3 really opened my eyes to what was possible.

Have you not played Metro: Last Light on PC? My God! NO game out tops its use of tessellation. I've not even seen next gen console games with that much detail! :O

Funny you should mention that. I completed Metro 2033 the other day and have Last Light in my Steam library. Planning to give it a go at some point this weekend.

This is like, really old :P

It is, but I'm trying to bring people up to speed. Similar to my "Uncanny Valley" topics years ago.

Not sure what kind of specs you're working with, but I imagine it will impress you greatly!

Mid-High @ 1080p. Not blindingly powerful but nice enough.

Core i5 2500 (stock clock)

8GB DDR3 RAM

AMD HD 7870 2GB GDDR5

I think I installed it on the SSD so loading should be quick
