Gaming at his resolution, every bit of power is welcomed, and now that games will start to get more demanding, even more.

Plus, my second PC could do with an upgrade too as it's trying to push 5760x1080 with only a couple of Radeon 6950's, it could do with my old 7970's.

I am very well aware of this, I guess I just don't get why you would get multiple cards at the same time.  You would think 1 would work out find, and then you would just add more as games get more demanding...

One card isn't enough when you're pushing more pixels than a 4k display, not even a single Titan could handle some games at that resolution.
Heck, Dual-Titans can't even achieve 30fps at 4k in sleeping dogs with everything on max.

I have played around with triple monitor gaming a little, but I have to ask: Is at all worth it, and if so why?

It is worth it.
Games suck you in so much more because your entire vision is being taken up, peripheral vision and all, hence why I have 2x PC's with a triple display set-up.

Besides, my main PC wasn't origionally built with gaming as it's main task, it's a bonus it simply can.
Hence why I stick my nose up at console only gamers, they don't know what they're missing! :P

NVIDIA Maxwell GM100:

The NVIDIA Maxwell GM100 chip would consist of 8 GPCs consisting of 24 SMX modules (3 SMX Per GPC), 384 TMUs, 6144 Cuda Cores, 8 MB of L3 Cache (8 L2 cache’s per GPC), 64 ROPs, a 512-bit interface followed by a VRAM upto 8 GB GDDR5 operation at around 6 GHz. The GM100 is supposed to replace the high-performance GK110 chip so its going to end up in both GeForce parts and Tesla parts. It will probably show up in the Tesla parts first before shipping to consumers.

Clock frequencies would be maintained at different levels for each product tier as listed below:
GeForce GM100: 930 MHz Core / 1 GHz Boost
Tesla GM100: 850 MHz (2.61 TFlops DP)
