I think it will sell very well at the end of the year, Its at 6.2m right now and its totally possible that it can sell 3.8m this nov/dec. If Sony supports it for more 3 years, and cut its price 2 more times, i think its possible for the PS3 to reach 105m lifetime.

That's what I think too.  It hasn't even reached $100 console-blueray mega-seller status yet.   As long as Sony is smart, 105 mil should be doable.  But it is far from gaurunteed.  They still need at least 1 decent exclusive for next year...

Cannot contain the awesome:

BWAHAHAHA!!!! I just watched that movie on Netflix last night

I remember when it was completly unthinkable for the PS3 to ever outsell the Wii now its not that much of a stretch anymore. I bet when all is said and done PS3 will be the the most sold 7th gen console.

The PS3 can easily get past 100 million. It has yet to get to the $200, $150 and even $120 price point (would be cheaper for the HDless version). If history repeats itself the PS3 will last until around the time the "PS5" comes out. I expect the PS3 to sell around 110 and 120 to be discontinued around 2018.

Its at 200 already but for a model no one should want

I predict it will do anywhere between 100-110 maybe even more if Sony cuts the price down to 99$ and Microsoft abandons X360. But of course there is still the chance of it not reaching 100m.

I doubt they can ever pice the PS3 that low, because it uses non-standard components which afaik are used by hardly anything else like the cell (some few Toshiba TVs used it, but I think those models have been phased out already) and the cpu ram (not sure what uses XDR ram) - those will always be expensive for Sony.

Hold your horses! I want to see those Sony financials! This can't be! God damn it! Somebody give me some negative Sony news to post now!

Too funny! Gotta love the haters!

hater?  how old are you?

the title is wrong.

it isnt adjusments, its the new numbers added on.

How old are YOU?  You are well known for being a Sony hater. Look at your original post, it also contains something wrong besides hate. You said it was rounding up, but it was just the new numbers. I'm sure you did read the post before you reached Blood_Tears's post so you avoided admitting that you were also wrong and just tried to spread hate.

Sorry for bad English.

Right, that's why I didn't consider those when talking a about price. I'm referring to that model when I say HDless version.

Nice milestone, now for 85 million

While the regulars here are very aware of kowen's preferences I don't think there is a reason to call him a "hater" or accuse him of "spreading hatred" with his recent posts - I think he is very tame compared to the past and most of his concerns about Sony aren't totally invalid, yet to me and other people who prefer Sony platforms they often don't seem as severe.
