Indeed. I remember when people thought it might even pass the PS2. It's like some forgot how it used to perform.

It succeeded in all ways. Nintendo did not say it was going to be out for 10 years! yet, it make more money than the other with such a poop hardware for its time. Nintendo lost money on the last year the Wii was out, mostly because of the 3DS. The other two has been out for 7 years, but they just turned profit in the last three years. In everyway it is a shame that the other two consoles are stil catching up. Oh, also remember that it didn't have the support and third party library that the other two had. You just mentioned it was ashame that it was the first one to go, well what can we say about the other two?

Good for the 360, PS3, and the Wii. Anyone getting hurt feelings over this needs to chill out.

I think that may be pushing it. Ps3 sales will probably fall off a cliff when ps4 launches. PS4 is relatively inexpensive at launch so people wont hold off as much as they did with the ps3 which kept ps2 relevant for longer than it would have been otherwise.

Just because a competitior quits, that doesn't mean the race is over. 

Wii ran out of gas, so they didn't have much choice.  Atleast Nintendo was making money selling the systems, they didn't need 10 yr life cycles to make back their losses.

Dont forget wii had nothing but first party games.. Nintendo had to do it all themselves to sell that much without much third party help.. Nintendo cant support more than 2 systems .. no shit they gave up on it.

But congrats to PS360 getting the numbers after so much losses and all the third party help.

And still the mighty PS2 reigns supreme. It might even record a game on the VG Chartz top sellers with FIFA 14 being its last game. May the PS2 rip and never be forgotten.

Yep, just a few weeks until my prediction of 2 1/2 years ago comes true.
