Add Turn Based Strategy to the list which Nintendo owns with Fire Emblem and Advance Wars.   I suppose one could make the case for Sega with Valkyria Chronicles.  However, Fire Emblem sales on 3DS have been very good and way better than previous iterations.

RTS never made a huge impact on console gaming. Halo Wars is probably the best selling console RTS of last gen (considering there is basically no competition for RTS on home consoles).  I enjoyed Battalion Wars 2 but it had its flaws.

Does Zelda categorize as an Action Adventure game? Because if so I would put Nintendo on top of Action Adventure. But Naughty Dog outdid themselves in this gen so I guess they deserve the spot thise gen!

Action Adventure: Nintendo (Zelda SS, Zelda TP)
Platformer: Ubisoft (Raymen Origins, Rayman Legends)
FPS: Eidos Montreal (Deus Ex which is my fav game this gen, so I cheat!)
Western RPG: Obsidian (Fallout New Vegas, Mask of the Betrayer (PC only)... were great, Alpha Protocol, Dungeon Seige had good ideas)
JRPG: From Software... I know argument on what is or is not JRPG,
Arcade: Studio Liverpool (Wipeout Pure, Pulse, HD: FURY)
Simulation: ick
TPS: Epic (Gears of War), I'd put capcom close since RE5 is my favorite TPS this gen.
Fighter: Whoever makes MK8.

Gran turismo beats Forza ?
1 GT vs 3 turn 10 Forza games
An 85 average game beating 3 90 plus rated games.
Is this thread based on sales? If so then i agree Gran Turismo 5 probably sold more than all the forza´s combined.

Only thing I strongly disagree with it western RPG. Although I could never get into Fallout 3, Skyrim is one of my favorite games of all time. However, the Mass Effect Trilogy IS my favorite game series of all time and should top Bethesda.

Sci-Fi First Person Shooter, I think Gearbox deserves an honorable mention for Borderlands. Is Deep Silver there for Metro? 4A Games developed that, Deep Silver published.
