I think I'm not getting it until I learn more about the music. I don't like the whole remix thing they're doing there, Uematsu is held in high regard for a reason and changing his works... I'm not a fan of that kind of stuff unless they can prove they've done it well, and they haven't just yet. The one piece I heard was worse than the original, let's hope the rest aren't.

never took the time to finish it on the PS2, but I would love to finally finish it on my Vita. And hopefully they will remaster/remake IX as I still think that would be the best one to remake. The IV, V and VI are already great on PSP!

That was a really interesting read.

Final Fantasy XII on Vita is something I would get very excited about. Let's hope X/X2 sells enough (and that it doesn't take 2 years to redo this time around).

Perhaps they'd stick Revenant Wings in there too, since Sony seems to mandate at least 2 games in a collection.

That said, I don't agree with his "something forgotten from modern games" comment. X is the template for the modern-day Final Fantasy that we're playing now; XIII is like it is largely because of X, in my opinion.

I disagree.  12 sucked, 10-2 actually has good gameplay.   Story on 10-2 was terrible, but the gameplay more than made up for it. 

As much as I like the story to 12, after four attempts at playing through it, the furthest I've got was 25 hours in after really forcing myself the game is just a garbage extremely repetitive grindfest where against just about every normal enemy your strategy is going to be attack, and against all bosses or marks, you'll use blind, attack, and heal. 

Need to make money?  You'll be constantly grinding for high priced loot to sell.  High priced loot that really doesn't sell for much at all, atleast not much in comparison to how expensive the items are.  Magic in the game is absolutely useless, with magic spells the enemy is weak against taking marginably more damage than your physical attacks.  With how short a ways MP goes, taking slightly more than your physical attack is worthless when it takes longer to cast a spell. 

I guess they really were going for the MMO aspect.  Make the games gameplay as boring as possible, then after you get out of battle and heal up, wait around for your MP to heal back up when it's low.  I like difficult RPGs, but there's a fine line between difficult and overly grindy or boring.
