What games are even using the PS eye on the PS4?

Youtube, a day with playstation

Japanese people love streaming from what I gather. There's always cosplayers and stuff on Nico Nico.

Yesterday Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and Asia surprised everyone by suddenly putting a second batch of the First Limited Pack of the PS4 (in both versions with and without the camera) up for preorder on its own store.

Looks like Japanese gamers were waiting quite eagerly for a second chance. While this batch didn’t sell in minutes like the first one, it only lasted 14 hours before Sony ran out of stock.

Interestingly enough, the version with the camera sold out a lot faster of the stand alone version, lasting little north of eight hours, indicating that either less bundles were made available, or Japanese gamers aren’t as hostile to glorified webcams as their indifference towards Kinect seems to indicate.

Below you can see a screencap of the page currently visible at the store. The red notice says that the allocated stock has run out so no more purchases will be accepted. It also encourages to check out the page again for a possible reopening of preorders in the future.

It would be nice to know numbers....doesn't mean much without.

For japan, my wild guess would be 40k each batch

If correct, the sold out 1st and now 2nd batch would bring PS4 to 80k pre orders right now.

For comparison, the ps3 debuted at around 85k in its 1st week. At this proposed pace, the PS4 would beat my prediction of PS4 debuting with 230k sold 1st week.

Each has to be like 40k. I can't see the batches being any lower than that. Maybe 35k at the very least but this is just all a blind guess

Yes, its true that numbers would be nice. However, its wrong that it doesnt mean much. It means its well recieved. It means its in demand.

actually it still means nothing, if the batches are small then there is no real huge deman if the seocnd batch took 14hours to sell. I highly doubt it but we cant jsut make assumptions either way,.

Sony took over a million pre-orders for the americas and europe alone months ago and you think they only opened up 40k twice for Japan? I would be shocked if it was less than 100k first round

Uh, 14hours is less than a day. Think of a music venue. Some big name artists you can walk up to the box office window the day of the show and grab a seat. Some, will be sold out in a month. The ones like lady gaga and justin bieber sell out in minutes. Are you saying that there is no demand for names like the black keys? Or Jack White?

You might be right but i just feel like the PS4 wont sell more than the Wii U in its 1st week. Wii U did like 300k and that was before the abrupt halt in its demand after a few months passed. I also know that it will definitly sell more than what the ps3 debuted at. All this makes me think that PS4 will debut with like 230k.

I guess i was trying to keep my expectations low when it came to japan lol

I'm not sure it would be to Sony's advantage if they purposefully allocated a low amount of units. If the PS4 can get over 1 million pre-orders in the states - where they are losing to Microsoft this generation, they for sure wouldn't be scaling back in their home territory. They know the demand is real. And since the PS4 launches in Feburary for Japan they have plenty of time to maufacture enough consoles.

I would think. Maybe I'm wrong.

@Figgycal is right... Japan launch is February.... Sony will have a lot of time to manufacture PS4 for this region.

I think we're looking at the 2nd coming, guys. Of the PS2, of course. Boy, this gen is going to be interesting.
