42 inch?  I wouldnt consider it for less than 55 or 60 inches tbh.

You can get a 4k 55inch for £3k already.  Those TV's will be well undr £2k this time next year.

You will be picking up 55inch 4k tv's for around £1k within 2 years easily.

One can dream. I would love it if the price fell that quickly.

its for certain.

from 8k to 3k in less than a year tells you this.

In 2015 you WILL be buying a 55inch 4k TV for around £1k.  I shall pop back in two years to gloat.

Once they hit sub £600 about $1000 USD for a 55inch 4k TV then I will be read to bite. The sooner the better.

hmmm be careful of what you buy though.... you get what you pay for.... you are better off with a high end 1080p than shitty low cost 4k

but if you look for one cheap you have the seiki which is probably one of best deal at the moment

Without content though, what's the point?  It's like 3D all over again.

4K with a glorified APU thats slower than the ps4? Either that APU is being powered by the same magical stuff that is powering the wiiU's "Direct X 11 capabilities" or all the games that are running at 4k resolutions are stick figures

Video's I can see happening but games... nope (unless they don't need much horsepower)

You wont see 4k games on a console, i can guarantee that, there maybe 1 where they do it as a gimmick because there's not much going on on screen.

A single 4k rendertarget would use up all the ESRAM for the screen buffer so any post processing effects and a back buffer would then have to be done in DDR3, meaning additional poor performance, not just what comes with going to a 4k render target.
