So don't mount that tall horse of yours when people quite rightly react to your post when the lack of context is the reason for it. |
We being in the MS section matters how exactly? I am discussing Microsoft. And Sony, and Nintendo. And everyone else. Also, had you read the entire thread, I'd clearly already said I wasn't talking about Xbone games being the best, but the general idea that gamers should care the games, not the insides of the console. It would have rendered your reply irrelevant. Just a little forum browsing tip for you, hope it helps.
Well, hopefully this means they will finally end the futile specs war that they had been trying to spin their way the past few weeks. I hope that goes for their fans, too. Now, it's time to focus on the games, not some bogus secret sauce.
Personally, I think they have an equal footing as far as launch games go, maybe one with a slight depending on your personal preferences. We'll have to see how the support goes for next year, though.

Individual posts still require their own frame of context, just a little logic tip for you, hope it helps.

If I were speaking to the Xbone itself and it's games specifically, I'd have mentioned them. Don't know how much simpler I can make it :)

Then there's the fact that Microsoft has been opening up more game studios in the last couple of years and are putting even more money into Xbox One game development than they did with 360. |
PS3 in 2013 already have more games than that... and I think 2014 they will release more games than that list too
.
And there are big AAA names too.

Really?
Last of Us
God of War
MLB
Dust 514
Puppeteer
Is all I can think of that has been developed or published by Sony for PS3 this year. Not saying you are wrong, but where are all of these games?

Reading the title and reading j allards initial response I dont really see why you guys are snapping at him. It seems pretty obvious to me that his response is directly pointed at the title of the thread, which is it is about games, not gigaflops.
Now, obviously j allard is an ms fan, he has a record for that. But seriously guys, its like your first response is to look for somekind of hidden context or bias in his statement. Instead of him having to give specific context to every little statement, perhaps you should give him the benfit of the doubt.

Most probably he isn't segregating the release of a game to limits of publisher or developed by.
If you narrow the criteria enough for anything you can make it better than something else, but as you state its about the games, so who it was published or developed by shouldn't matter when comparing lists of released games.
That said how Rain has been missed from the topic is incredible, its one of the best games released this year in my opinion.

Well it's not really about narrowing criteria, they are discussing how much support either company gives their respective consoles. So whether they developed or published it is pretty important. Ni no Kuni released on PS3 this year, but as Sony neither developed nor published it, does that game show Sony supports their console? Not really. Or Dark on 360. MS had nothing to do with that. The list of 360 games he quoted were all published or developed by MS. As I said I was not claiming he was wrong, as a PS3 owner who plays a lot of PS3 games I am just genuinely wondering where all these games are he's talking about. But you're surely right, he is just counting releases Sony had nothing to do with.
