More free games are coming to Xbox Live Gold members in October as part of Games with Gold! Starting tomorrow, two great titles will be available for free for a limited time:

• “Might & Magic Clash of Heroes” ($14.99 ERP):  Available from Oct. 1 – 15
• “Halo 3” ($14.99 ERP): Available from Oct. 16 – 31

And yes, you read that right… “Halo 3” is yours free from Oct. 16 – 31!  In 2012, “Halo 4” ushered in a new chapter in a continuing saga with the Master Chief. Now experience a piece of history in the award-winning and critically acclaimed Halo franchise with “Halo 3.” Released in 2007, “Halo 3” was awarded the Game Critics Award for Best Online Multiplayer, Best Innovation from Edge Magazine and called “nothing short of epic” by IGN.com.

The events leading up to “Halo 3,” introduced a future where humans have colonized the vast reaches of space thanks to the leadership and might of the United Nations Space Command (UNSC). However, human civilization is not alone. Newly discovered and hostile alien forces, the Flood and the Covenant, threaten the very existence of humanity. Out of this conflict rose a new hero, the Master Chief, and his AI companion, Cortana.

In “Halo 3,” the Master Chief returns to uncover an ancient secret, and bring the conflict between the Covenant, the Flood and the entire human race to a dramatic, pulse-pounding climax. Keep the gameplay going when the campaign ends, and extend your experience with legendary “Halo 3” multiplayer! Check out the great DLC deals, discounts and free maps at www.Halo3.com.

Looking forward to Might & Magic. Halo 3? I guess that's good for new Xbox 360 owners, but I can't imagine there are many current subscribers out there who haven't played it in the six years it's been available.

Interesting to see Halo 3 released this month I was thinking this would be released December at the end of the Games for Gold program but I guess It would make more sense to release it this month before the XOne comes out. Interested to see what the next two months will offer now and if they continue to do this program after the deadline they set. No reason not to continue it unless there's been no significant increase in Live subscriptions over the past few months.

ahh, beat me to it, I thought i was going to be the first to post this :p,

Also, previous monthly releases included Assassins Creed 2, Dead Rising 2 and Crackdown.

I know I've said this before but, 360 owners, go DL Clash of Heroes. It's a really good game. Some will tell you that it can't be good because it didn't cost $60 but that's crazy talk. This makes me want to replay it for a third time.

After that, you should join with me in demanding a sequel.

Hmm, could be better but I won't complain about free games.

M&M is fantastic. FIrst free XBL game that I have.

M&M the first game with gold that I actually don't own. Yay!

What is the problem with Microsoft Brazil?

Their official Games with Gold page states that M&M is available for Gold members to redeem for free, but clicking on "Get your free game now" leads me to the games page, with NO LINK FOR PURCHASE...

Then, when trying to get it from the US page, the page shows me a message saying the game is not available for my region... What is it with their lying?

Halo 3 now live
