Forums - Gaming - This is the reason why I own a Retro Video Game store!!!

I've been wanting to open a game store forever now. The one's around me are horrible. Do you fear that this might be the last gen of physical copies? Do you think it's a wise idea to open one?

Someone traded this in the other day. There is only like 10 known sealed copies and 50 copies total out in the wild. This is 10x better then when I got Earthbound and Demon Crest traded in.

you got those boxed?

LOL...I wished

It's a great time to open one if you carry most retro games. Heck even PS2 games is doing pretty well for me because GameStop stop buying and selling them. For current gen games is too risky. Cost is too high and too much competitors.

He traded it in toward Table Top miniature war games.

So you don't take trades on new games? or you don't sell new at all?

I do take trades in for current gen games. For new release games my customer must deposit half for me to order. I usually only order 1 extra copy of a new release game for walk-ins. Don't want to invest too much in them.

After 9/11 they decided to change the cover of the game. The game was already printed out and ready to ship but Sony decided to change the cover and disk artwork. So they order to destroy all copies they had already printed out and use the new artwork for the games. But with every Sony first party games at the time, they have like a few copies that they give out to certain employees. They forgot to recall those ones back because it was given out weeks before the game was released.

I envy you guys , really... do what you really love.
