I've finally got some funds together and I'm looking to getting a metal DDR pad to replace one of mine that broke. However my parents are also hoping to get into the deal as well, so I need to make sure that whatever I get is really durable. (they are a bit overweight, so I want to make sure the pad can handle the extra weight) So does anyone have any recomendations?

He's 300 pounds and starting on heavy level songs, so I'd say it's pretty durable. Not cheap, though.

All heavy pads will bend eventually. My friend and I have gone through 4 soft pads and 3 metal pads. He was around 300 pounds if not more (now down to 260ish).

 Then perhaps that's why this pad holds up. It doesn't have a metal frame. Metal brackets keep the parts together, but the base is rubberized particle board.

Grey, as a longtime DDR player, I can't possibly recommend the Cobalt Flux pads in high enough terms. I've owned one for almost three years now, and it's never needed any repair or maintenance. All I need to do is clean it about once a year. This is under conditions of heavy, heavy use - hundreds upon hundreds of hours of playtime. One of my friends bought another metal pad from RedOctane, and it was a total disaster, kept falling apart and wasn't reliable on the steps at all. If you're willing to spend $300 for a really good pad, just go with the Cobalt Flux.
