Forums - Nintendo Discussion - WiiU hardware sales seem to have gotten a pretty good boost with the price cut + WW HD bundle.

The price cut is not going to have a meaningful impact. It was announced on the 28 of August yet no drop in sales occurred.

sales were very very low to begin with, i dont think that formula is very meaningful joethebro. Lets just wait and see before killing it off

Of course it's not 100% accurate, but just don't be expecting bumps even close to the 3DS after its price drop. What's really telling is that it went up for the Rayman launch. It means lots of people care more about a game than the price drop.

pictures a few pro Sony and Microsoft people looking at this.. and saying it has no meaningful impact to me.. because it's stable and possibly going the wrong way... LOL... It's supposed to be closer to the toilet so we can flush.... instead it's climbing hills ... Game Over Man.. Freaking Game Over.. we will never be able to flush now... and we filled the toilet with waste so it could go with it... Noooooo... ROFLMAO... Ohhh... I think I have had to much Sake..

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the bundle includes WWHD as a digital title, correct???
Is it preloaded, or do you have to download it from the eShop using a code???
If you must download it, does that count as an eShop sale???
Speaking of the eShop, WWHD is now the twelfth best selling game on the eShop in North America ever...

Have a nice day...

estimates are still estimates. how do we not kno if rayman didn't come out sales might have dropped? Jus saying I think its hard to tell sometimes and showing no signs of falling down with low sales isn't convincing enough. im not saying wiiu will have such a big spike, im saying is it cant really get worse, you cant expect it to drop sales especially if not everybody knows about it. I dont see much advertisement of a wiiu price cut to begin with

^ As far as i know, you get a code and the have to download it.
Does it count as a sale? Have no idea.
Still, that number appears because the game is actually being released on eShop sooner.

On topic:
I too think WW is going to give Wii U a big boost.
I´m not surprised for lack of impact on Wii U sales because i think many Nintendo fans have been expecting the right time to buy a Wii U. And this bundle is the perfect opportunity!
Tracking below GC sales can only mean that even Nintendo fans are waiting.

Nintendo will count it as a sale just like they count people that use Club Nintendo coins to get free games as sales on their eshop charts.  Mario vs DK: March of Minis is being offered right now and it soarded past Animal Crossing, Pushmo and 3D Classics Kirby (which I believe was another game offered for Club Nintendo coins).

Over time yeah this price cut will be very beneficial, but surely this week sales will still be sub 15k in the USA. I'm really only concerning myself with that initial spike, so I guess you kinda agree with me?

Probably about 15,000 for the Wii U. Nobody really likes it as was pretty evident with Nintendo announcing they were offering Wii Fit U and Wii Sports basically for free last week in an attempt to stimulate sales, but the people that liked those have moved on to other things. Nintendo needs to come out with a new more powerful console in 2015 with some new more adult slanting core ips because Wii U is in for a tough time and their old series are starting to feel staid as they did in the Gamecube Era.

Yea i dont think that much due to advertisement unfortunately. its like vita, only gamers knew of the price cut, its sales boosted 2k per week since pricecut (US went back down a little) cuz nobody knows! Also i checked on eShop, LoZ is #12 of all time beating an indie game that gets lots of discounts and been out since launch. this doesn't mean its all wiiu purchases as you can buy the game now for purchase but thts pretty good.

It's going to be a small boost. It's coming towards the end of the week, and they still need more software support. Small jump. Bigger jump towards the end of October with Sonic and Wii Party U. Bigger jump for Wii Fit U digital. Big jump for Mario into the holidays.
